  1. Nevermind, worked out a deal with him.
  2. Hi guys, busted the right headlight cover the day before I sold my 260z and I want to replace it for the new owner. Anyone have a spare they don't need? Or know of anywhere to get one cheaper than thezstore.com? Thanks.
  3. *Deposit Taken* Selling my 1976 260Z 2+2. I'm going to post the description I wrote for the ad on eBay and Carsales. Car is located in Newport, Melbourne. Please see the eBay ad for pictures. Looking for $10,000. Not making any money, just want to see it go to a good home since I'm unable to keep it due to a change in living circumstances. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1976-Datsun-260Z-2-2-Manual-2-8L-/201600416677 1976 Datsun 260Z 2+2 Manual Runs and drives well but no RWC or rego. Last registered in 2013. Daily driver for years before that so it has good bones. Frankenstein engine with some desirable parts including: - F54 2.8L block - Decked N42 head - 240Z round-top 4-bolt twin carbs, rebuilt only a few months ago. Was a daily driver until 2013, I have five or six years worth of receipts for regular servicing and other works done. Previous owner stopped driving due to the carbs needing a rebuild. They were cleaned and rebuilt early this year. Ignition system was largely replaced as well, including : New ignition coil, points, condensor, rotor button, coil lead, spark plugs. New fuel filter, and new K&N air filter installed. Interior is in good condition for the age. Carpets and seats are good, also have a new Z emblem shift knob for it. Car has some rust, largely cosmetic but inspection recommended. Paint is rough, but some areas are decent. Has A/C but the belt was off it (it's in the boot) when I got it. Engine was installed around four years ago, barely driven since. Have receipts for the work. Nice unrestored example of a 40yo car, so you can do what you want with it. Unfortunately I've run out of time and money due to a change in circumstances. It runs and drives well, so I think the rust is the only RWC concern. Inspections welcome. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to come take a look. Either email me through the forum or text me on 0425-852-348. Cash on pick up is preferred, if you want to do a bank deposit I will need to see the full amount clear in my account before I hand the keys over. I can assist with shipping at buyers expense.
  4. My own car is up on eBay, unfortunately I have to sell it so soon after getting it due to a change in living circumstances. AU $6,000.00 - reserve not met. 5 days to go. 5. Nice piece of kit there Justin, what do you reckon that cost you?
  6. How did this whole saga end Kato?
  7. Hrrm, they look like a very similar colour to mine, but I discovered mine was resprayed in a toyota colour and the original paint stickers were removed...weird.
  8. I assume the door skins won't work on a 2+2 yeah?
  9. Do you guys just use google translate for the Japanese links?
  10. Oh I only meant that the rego check on the VicRoads website says it's Grey, but that doesn't mean much if the entry can be changed on respray or what have you.
  11. That definitely looks like the right colour. Does VicRoads change the colour on registration if a car gets resprayed? Because the rego on mine says Grey.
  12. Thanks man, got it for a good price (imo), owner offered it for reserve price because I was the first to show up to inspect, when he cancelled the auction the next day after I inspected it on a hoist for the sake of diligence, it was already higher than what I got it for, with two days left to go. No idea if it's factory or not, I forgot to check for the label in the engine bay. It's not green, it's a dark grey, but it's a bit hard to tell from the photos because it's so dusty. One site had it as 503, but on another site that was a really light grey. On another site it was...530 I think, but again another site discredited that. It looks like 258 Pewter Metallic on another, but that's silver on other sites. Unfortunately B&M Fuel Systems closes today for Christmas so I won't get a chance to look for the label. I don't think it's got any brown to it, definitely a dark grey I think. I'll have to wait a couple weeks for B&M to open again so I can check for a sticker/plate thing. Not sure if I'll be doing a full respray, I kinda dig the rough look, have to see how rust repair goes I guess. I've found a couple pictures of other Z cars with the same or similar colour, but no information attached to them. It's hard to compare when these cars are super glossy and mine is super dusty haha.
  13. I bought this one! Anyone know the paint code off the top of your head? I've gotten a lot of conflicting results from searches. It's at B&M Fuel Systems at the moment and I didn't think to look for a paint code on the firewall (or radiator mount too, yes?) before I left it there. They already had it running today, only dropped it off on Friday. Good stuff.
  14. Thanks for the welcome guys. I was only having a laugh with my comment about the pics It was up on eBay, due to end on Tuesday just past, went to inspect it on the weekend. Told the guy I'd see how the auction went and he offered it to me for reserve right off the bat. It was already higher than what I paid when he ended the auction. Good deal I think.
  15. Is that a rule or a request there fella ? Here's one of her all dirty, once she's clean I'll post another.
  16. Hi guys, new Z owner here, just bought a '76 260z 2+2. Not quite running yet, having carby issues I'm getting fixed at B&M Fuel Systems on Friday. Seems to have had an interesting life, as it has a L28 (not sure if an L28E converted to carbs, or if the previous owner took it out of a Patrol or something, serial doesn't seem to match a list of Datsun codes I found somewhere), an N42 head which I believe comes from the 260, and twin round top carbies that seem to be from a 240z. Unforunately the guy I bought it off didn't know much of the history as he took the car as part of a debt he was owed, and the previous owner before him disappeared. It's dark grey which I can't seem to find the right colour code for (maybe 503?), with a real nice straight body. Tiny bit of rust on the top of the right fender, bubbling on the bottom of the right door (keep forgetting to check the left door), and the rear...window sill panel thing that seems to rust in most of these cars is a little bit shagged. The underside is remarkably clean, exhaust is a bit heat tarnished but my '06 bike looked much the same when I sold it a few weeks ago, so I'm not concerned about that. Only thing that concerns me at this point is that the A/C belt is off and the guy I bought it off doesn't know why. Belts in the boot though, so I guess I'll find someone to check it out. All I know is I can't survive summer without A/C I was intending on leaving it a bit rough and just focusing on getting it RWC'd and rego'd, don't really wanna go full respray but I might anyway. After the carbies get looked at with B&M, might take it to The Z Factory or perhaps to Classic Auto Fabrications if Lurch has time to get the rust fixed up. I've got receipts of servicing and parts for a few years from 2011 or so, up to it being left in the workshop, so rust should be the only thing hindering a RWC once the motor's running well. Looking forward to getting it on the road. I'll upload some pics when I get a chance, it's covered in dust from having sat in a workshop for a year and half or so.
