  1. Fit the Lucas TRW pads appropriate for those calipers. Some of the qfm's have been known to crumble, f you get your compound selection wrong. And, get the discs skimmed, when fitting new pads, as cross contamination will occur due to differeing pad materials imbedded into disc rotor. Good times, how has the lowering of your pressures worked hey?
  2. Grab yourself a copy of the book" how to rebuild your datsun ohc L engine" Read it, read it again. Do it yourself on a bench in the shed, a Supercrap engine stand is a usefull thing. You dont need to many fancy workshop tools. What you will need is a machine shop to do a little finishing work on the block and the head. Not hard. Have a go at pulling an engine apart first, lay the bits out on the bench. Hint, dont forget the two 10mm small bolts at front of head to front timing cover. For timing chain wedge, fadhion up a bit of timber.
  3. Nah, not for me, but for others here who may want to do the four rounds!
  4. Someone who knows the details, Can they post up the costs, 1- Series registration cost And, 2 cost to enter each round of the four rounds. As per usual WDSCC will send out the info later in the year, but usually only to those pre-existing registered entrants. To any newbs, you just need to persevere with WDSCC, who organise the whole shebang. Dont forget, they are running a one ff sprints weekend usually in October, with no requirement to register for any series. AND, HRCC are running a two day sprints meet on 13/14 September, again, dont have to be a member, or be registered for any series to run that either!! Great value, lotsa fun!
  5. It's a known car amongst the Roadster community. Priced about right. The 1600cc SP311's are fetching higher prices, and tatty 2000cc SR311's are fetching around the $20k mark. Way way fewer of all of these, and much rarer than any S30 Z If you're keen grab that one. Most of us are sitting on 3-4 of them, and too wary to sell.
  6. This all secret squirrel, must be a paid up member stuff again, hey!
  7. "Shoe Glue" made by Selleys. Sold in Woolworths Supermarkets. Same thing.
  8. What's up woth the block you were going to use?
  9. All the lads in Group S racing Z's run standard brakes allround, some run next size up master, and std booster. They work just fine. No need to upgrade, even with 290 fwhp engines. Pretty decent power upgrade, and, we run up to 1 hour/25 lap races. They do get regular maintenace.
  10. The original wooden gear knobs from Nissan, did not have shift patterns.

    Advice

Is racy car, Shmoo prime and 10' spray job!
  13. With electric fan, a > mount? Yeah that high mount looks good, bit of ducting should get airflow to it. Off to keadure my widths!!
  14. Before you do, come and have a look at a pair of Supra 1J/2J intercoolers I have here. Far better than stock s14 units, slightly biggere, piping slightly bigger for volumetric efficiency. Was gonna use one of them on the turbo Roadster thingy.
  15. Yes, that one. If you could find that very car, and it's original logbook, it would qualify as a Group C Touring car, but it must be THE car, not a replica. It would have long ago, been put back as a road going car, and sold off as a second hand car, no longer to be found, as was the case with the majority of old prod stock racers.
  16. NO L20B blcks are taller, timing cover from 16/16/24/26/28 will not fit.
  17. Subscribing to this.
  18. Any older large Datsunn in any wrecking yard.
  19. How many years did it live in Sydney? How many in Bright?
  20. You will always get odd pricing, depending on start - finish location, with car transport, due to the location of the manufacturers new car holding yards, which are in Sydney and Melbourne. The car transporters are often full ( ie its more expensive) coming out of Melb & Syd, but backload trips, often finds vacant spots on the trucks, hence cheaper prices. Try getting a price Syd/Melb to Darwin/Perth! A backload trip from these is way cheaper it's all to do with new car movements.
  21. Did it live in Sydney? Cars get a hard life there, and the salt air from the coast does not help, on other hand, if she's been a country car all it's life, then the body metal should be quite sound. It's easy to fix mechanical issues, not so easy to fix/replace body/trim/interior issues. How long has it lived in Bright? Umm, $4k is a lowballer offer, we have all seen granny spec cars gping from anywhere from $10k to $15k
  22. Have a look around on various DSOA ( Datsun Sports Owners Association) pages or sites. Few here in Qld and NSW, bulk of them are in Victoria. Try also Victorian club NDSOC, as the members there comprise of all Nissan/Datsun Sports type cars, very large member base. Also try Lou Mondello in Melbourne, hard to get a hold of!
  23. New MLS 91 mm ( for all teh big bore boys!) still avail. Used one has gone.
  24. By having stock guard shape, in ABS plastic, makes it sssoooooo much easier to cut/trim to then fit tek-screw on flares! Good idea. You'll no doubt let Paul know about these, maybe he can onsell for you? Rear quarters?? ( bit harder!
  25. .... At recent Winter National Historic meeting at Morgan Park, the Group S field numbered some 23 cars. At the Autumn meeting, in May, some 18 cars. In September we have a 2 day Lakeside meeting, current indications are approx 17 cars. The racing is close, and there is great camerarderie in the pits amongst the Group S competitors. Once you get the car sorted, and a few lcal Vic meetings under your belt, why not escape the cold Melbourne winter, for a while, and put the HRCCQld July meeting on your calendar. Quite a few interstaters travel up here every year!
