  1. Everyone knows all the famous old rally cars ended up in Tassie...no ex works 240z's down here, LOL...no 30 is the closest we have!! According to the yearbook, Frank ran what was reported as 'ex works 240z' in round 2 'Classic Rally' with a blown diff DNF, then equal 2nd in the next round the 'Bunbury Curran' rally, then another blown diff DNF in the 'Bega rally' whilst leading on the last stage..bugger. No mention of them in the 5th round report but had an outright win in the mighty Alpine rally in the ex works Southern cross 180B SSS. There are also some photo's of Tony Pond's and Shekhar Mehta's works 240Z's in the Southern Cross of that year if you need a copy Cheers Hodgo
  2. No worries, PM your email. I spoke to Ric today....man he love's that car!! From a guy who builds and tunes race cars for a living at the highest level that a big call.
  3. The rest of the article. Mate I hate to say it but I just had the same work done on the option 1 out of my 1600 and it cost about 1/10th.....
  4. It's weird how things work out sometimes, I found this mag whilst looking for something else last week, read it and worked out that one of the previous owners of your car, Ric Kemp, just did my shocks up and gave me some very good advise...now I see this! bloody small world. Sadly I don't have a spare 50g's sitting around. Cheers Hodgo
  5. In '77 Yearbook Dunco's car is always listed as a 240z in the results of the ARC (1976) which he won and the car has 4080 plates and LHd. The 76 Castrol International Rally he is listed as 3rd outright, with Nissan Australia as the entrant, behind George Fury in 2nd in a works 710sss and Greg Carr in 1st in a private entry 180sss.
  6. Just dragged out the '74 Competition Yearbook and there is a photo of 8075 competing in the first round of the 73 ARC where it ended up 6th.
  7. An old Russian guy who now lives in a Tasmanian West Coast mining town has this in his shed.......
  8. OK I'm not saying anything about this one...
  9. Hope this isn't to kinky for a family site? LOL
  10. Thanks guy's I've just upped the spring rates a heap, so maybe I'll try it with out a bar to see how it goes. I can get one made, but they are pretty expensive, I just thought maybe someone had one laying about unused? Cheers Hodgo
  11. G'day Guy's, I'm chasing a 18mm rear sway bar to suit a 240z and the little 'hinge' bits that hold it into the bracket. If you have one lying around please give me a shout, Cheers Hodgo
  12. Was the launch date for the 240z in Aust Oct 1970? That makes over 100 cars sold per month, 3 a-day-ish...
  13. A bit of in-car from Targa Gorge, it's the second half of a return run. We get a little excited towards the end when we catch a Daytona Coupe!! Cheers
  14. LOl yeah I hope so! both the driveline breakages were my fault, I've now worked out if you light it up in 1st, don't grab 2nd.....anyway who breaks a R200? no one!!
