  1. You can blank off and remove a fair bit, but the ecu needs signals from a few items., and sends signal to a few things. One thing, replace the stock return line fuel pressure reg, with a decent aftermarket pressure reg. Things like exhaust EGR, and crankcase breather are eady to block off/blank/plug, but run a breather hose from crankcase into a tin, an old olive oil tin is a good choice, but paint it black, so it looks "right" !
  2. Hearing other cars using Willwoods also have similar issues, what is it with them, maybe our caliper ear mount pisition is not right? The weeping threads thing is def not right!
  3. How are the discs on runout? Could be an idea to get them onboard skimmed. I get knock off about 3 laps in, combination of things, but i pull handbrake on just 1 notch, and this helps, then 3 laps later, pedal teavel is a lot, again, it takes a quick tap tap with left foot, then full pedal right foot hard for the big brake corners.. Using stock Z calipers, i find a fresh set of caliper seals helps reduce it, due to stiffness of new seals, which are designed to pull piston back a touch, but not overly much.
  4. Because these are so under stressed, they will be in excellent cond! The large number of teeth on the pinion means far more teeth to bear the load onto the crownwheel, compared to taller ratios. Perfect for turbo cars as the turbo gets loased up nicely. At $100 that is a bargain! New ones in taller ratios, ex Japan, are around $1700 landed!
  5. Dont worry, Lurch doesn't know it yet, but he'll be my seeing eye bitch next easter. We've already given it a trial run.
  6. Stop it. Apprentice.
  7. Trollollollololllollolol! Meh In 2009, that crappy old Dato 2000 nailed pretty well all the Z's, since you raise it. Still does. Anyway, aubrey, thanks for your valuable and helpfull input here, when pissible, please do let us know a little bit more. Some i have spoken to have asked or mentioned all kinds of things, mainly around the Track day, or Track days! Ie more than one day! For those coming from the Southern States, there was a definate, in 2009, " Yes Please, can we have more sir" vibe. No, you wont get flag to flag door to door racing,,,, unless you get the permits done under the Qld ashort Circuit Racing Association, of which WDSCC and Morgan Park come under. Oopps!
  8. Everton Self Storage have lock up units big enough for trailers or households of furniture. On Queens Rd somewhere.
  9. Wot's a PF? Thanks Aub, now we are getting a bit of something. Yep, i'd like to enter something. What are the "somethings" and on what days? Give us a bit of a teaser as to what is hopefully being proposed.
  10. Trolling my arse. As usual, you are full of information. Not. Even this far out, people still need to plan their holuday time, allocate funds etc. You leave the supply of information till much later, you run risk of some interstaters not being able to make it. We dont need the nitty gritty details of all the various permutations of categories, classes, prices and knob polishing. Just let the masses know what is proposed, what the vague plans are, dates and days, etc. Otherwise, if it's not in peoples minds, they may end up at one of the other Easter events elsewhere!
  11. And, Yes, The fitted to rear line, Pressure Reducing Valve, Will work admirably, as your rear pad sq mm sizing is too large for the wright bias of the propsed car, compared to donor car. Other option, is to machine off a % of the rear pad material. Dont get hung up on rotor sizes, stick on what fits, with, whatever the smallest rim size you may end up using, on the car.
  12. Always used single 10 weight oil. Singer sewing machine oil was good. Floatyness comes from worn holes in the seals, they open up a bit, and oil becomes equivalent to a 0 weight. Some played with combo of ATF and 10, or ATF and 20, but 20 would blow out seals on hard ( dirt rally) stuff. Maybe OK on fast road. Biggest issue is current spec oils foaming up, once foamed/aerated, its useless.
  13. Make this less painfull! What is square mm of total pistons in each front caliper? PieRsquared? What is rear sq mm What is sq mm size of master intended? The volume of fluid displaced ( required by the four calipers) will dictate the madter size. Your master size is now the variable! Also slightly variable is pedal leverage ratio, ( but not much!) The leverage factor for brake rotor, relative to wheel total diameter is a minor consideration, not important though.
  14. Whats happening with this event? Lot of people need to pre-plan holiday, logistics, etc for it! The organising club is being very quiet about it, no mention of what is planned. Or what costs will be. Non-Event? last minute balls-up? Z's only? All a bit "secret squirrel, must be a member, shoosh shoosh" ?
  15. Sounds like a valid plan!
  16. Am hearing that this is very very popular, and hard to get in to, as past entrants get the info on it up front? Have done a few Variety Bash events, but this sounds way more fun. Link to organisers?
  17. Thats cos the P90 was a USA market head, for the turbo, and their crap fuel. The Japs just dont play with them. Kameari do a bit of valvetrain stuff for the P90, but that is aimed at their USA distributor and that market. Bucket loads more N42 and earlier model heads were manufactured for the other 6 Cylinder cars, sedans, and 4wd's.
  18. To do the job properly may require sending it away. When you say " cant be skimmed" how tall is the head? A good indication is between no1&2 spark plug holes, will be an embossed "nissan n42" depending on how much is missing on the bottom of the lettering, your head maybe fine for a 6-8 thou trueing cut. A surface finish of ra40 will give good seal. If the machine shop you talk to have nfi about these details, look for another shop. Being in Alice does present the odd problem,,,,
  19. Oi. Bloke comes on, probably a once upon a timer, Offeres his stuff up to us lot, And you get sh1tty with him. Pull your head in. IF you are interested, ring the guy up, fercrissakes. You lot dont remember the old paper Trading Post, every Thursday, grab it, look for stuff, actually MAKE a phone call, arrange a time place, go look, do a deal. Today, its the keyboard warrior in full cry. ( end of rant, carry on)
  20. L6 or L4, ie 910 series Bluebird sedans/wagons! Four speed, or five speed! ( the fours have less room in the extension housing. Watch out some of the 200B boxes, and Stanza boxes, they are a 63 mm c to c distance, and the bell is "smooth" style, they wont fit the 71mm gearsets.
  21. Try wreckers for other models, ie Bluebirds, Skylines, 240k. The bells are pretty much all the same.
  22. So a set of brand new in the bx replca Watanabe R Types in 15x9 at neg 13 offset, set f four, at $1200 aud including postage, within Australia, is a pretty damn nice price! Thought so! Who wants some? 3 sets available!
  23. Someone in Qld fitted a setup from a Subaru, very compact, it was supposed to have worked quite well!
  24. Ask them to break it up into two orders to keep each value down, otherwise Aus Customs will nail you! Or, adk them to put a deflated total value on the one order/box, ie $800
