  1. Chasing the cardan shaft ( fixed unversal joint at bottom where it clamps onto rack) The top is a fine spline on end of shaft. There were two versions, Up to july 1073 And from August 1973. Heres my problem, i dont know whoch one i need! ( custom application) If you have one, can you measure its o/all length and post up, and what month/year is car Possibly 2+2's could be a third variant? Brisbane area.
  2. They should have made them a bit like this one.
  3. A lot. No Yes Dont bother using First gear, and there are two overdrives! Get yourself a series 2 S14, then a series 1 S14, then any S13. If atmo car, fit the C/R set

    88mm pistons

Yep. Ot'll be a Driveway Warranty. At end of his driveway, warranty expires,,,, Have a look at largest oversize ACL pistons for Osuzu G200 engine, should be 88's They definately do 87.5's You need to use a L24 Conrod at 133mm, as these are short pin height, and depending on head chamber volume/shape, and gadket thockness, you can come out the bore a bit, even shape the top to get more sqish into chamber. These do require facing off a few mm to get flush with block. If your engine builder s a bit "vanilla " he'll prob go for this option. G200 sets are in fours, ie you need two sets. Are cheap and readily available.
  5. Have a look at MotorSport Auto, in US, they have a fair bit of stock.
  6. Just gone through the ten or so here, sorry, no white 19 tooth ones, lots of other colours/counts! Foe the gearstick bushes i can machine up steel ones, but these are on a made to measure/fit basis, from bar stock. Require the pin and gearstick to do it. Got old rubber boots, but they are,,, old,, and gone hard/ torn For a trans breather, I can tap a thread into it ( mst be no oil inside- need to hold it upside down) and fit a screw in brass NPT elbow nipple and you run a bit of hose up from it.
  7. You didn't have the rear of diff to moustache bar nuts done up nice and tight, did you? You tighten these last.
  8. Cant remember their name, but they are in Lobb St, on the right hand side.
  9. Bluudy Gen Y types, want it all handed to them on a Silver platter,,,, Gone are the days of crawling about in oil infested mud at the local wreckers, in the vain hope the bit you want happpens to be attached with rounded off bolts,,,
  10. Its the guys that aren't into the cams club scene, they are aware it exists, but are reluctant or dont understand. Some no doubt will enquire. You going to publsh/put out some sort of Spectator guide thing, that can be spread vie social media?
  11. There are quite a few Datsun enthusiasts out there who are a bit confused at the "offer" and the full costing. No mentions of how many runs of each f the three track layouts, that are being run twice, per day, with stoppages for setting up each layout. Many have nfi on what the track looks like, or layout, but just know it is ne of a ABCDEFG etc, to mst that means very little. Whats with the fee for "non judged " car show? They can do Banyo twice a year, for no charge? The evening presentation at $70 per head, what do they get, and what entertainment. Just sayin' from others talking about this! A great many are wanting to just drive up for one or the other day, and jst have a look at it all. They are not into the whole "formal" car club thing, i'm sure you blokes are aware of this and are geing proactive. Is there an entry fee to spectate, some ask. The prior presentations to the various groups have got many talking about this, but not that many commiting to it. Lots of "gunna do its" though! Should be interesting.
  12. Was it driving ok before? If so, issue will be with clutch hdraulic system, you may need to bleed both master cyl, as well as slave cyl. Have someone look under car ( use axle stands etc) while you push pedal down, to ensure clutch slave cylinder is mving the clutch forka "good" pedal does not necessarily ,ean the clutch fork is mving fully!
  13. What is your car purchase price budget/price range? How long a period of time would you be looking at investing, to get the end result? How mch dollars/budget are you prepared to tip into this process? You may be better off financialy, and timewise, to jst wait till a finished off, or near to, car comes along, and pay a fair bit more for it You jeed to sit down and realistically come up with numbers. To get a car near to stock, e a damn good resto, you can be at over $80k. You can pick up a nice neat basic unmodded car at $15-20k Or start with a pretty cruddy one at $5-10k, and then spend a further eadily 20k on it, As plenty have found out, but do not wish to disclose,,,,,
  14. Advertised a little while back. Very nice price!
  15. Get regular ext stats, make up a punch and block, but make the punch diameter only to diam of the solid ring.
  16. Wasn't that old, was a wirey nuggety very active bloke. Mention of a cerebral artery blockage, very sudden. To see what Morgan Park was like when I first ran there in 2000 and to see what Bill and the crew from WDSCC have built it up to now in 2015, s a testament to the can do spirit of of these guys.
  17. How do the TRX rims go on a stocko Z front end? They have horrod positive offset!
  18. We are here to help and foster the Datsun love!
  19. Try Stew Wilkins Motorsport, he usually has a few bodies around. McGraths Hill, near Penrith. Thats gonna be about as close as you may get!
  20. I think he thinks chassis number is same as engine number. No it isnt, never was, from new. As Gav above, The silver ID plate will have both numbers, to confirm if ID plate is correct for that car ( they can be swapped pretty easy) check the stamped number on body shell, ( but then, these can be ground back and fresh numbers engraved) Engine number not match engine no on ID plate? She's been swapped out!
  21. Baaaccckkk,, to the original post,,,, Its a possible imbalance issue, Due to either pedal falling off, due to problem with front rotors, Or fluid is old and lost its full properties... Note comment about "as day went on, rear got loose going into corners" That sounds like rear brakes are working harder than fronts, and on verge of locking up, but not quite, and the tail of car gets "loose" or squirmy. The fronts have lost some ability. Complete fluid change required, and fresh set of same pads, front and back. Go and test/track it again.. Has issue gone/changed/still present?
  22. How about a 3.9 open, you could slide a kaaz into it!
  23. Entries closed? Going by supp regs. How many are entered? Be nice to know from the point of view of all the spectators that will be driving out from Nrisbane for a day trip.
  24. Plus 1 for Penrite SIN brake fluid. Disagree on the QFM pads, get them hot, they turn to apple crumble chunks. Have sets here just like that. Matty sggested the Hawks. Have a look to see if Lcas TRW supply a pad, they can take a beating. Once you select a pad stick with it, dont change them, as the compound will embed into rotor, if changing pads give rotors an onboard disc skim, to get fresh steel.
  25. For the higher torque output your motor has, go for the insurance option. A SR20DET box onto a L series bellhousing. Can use most 4 or 6 cyl bell, just needs minor mods, any machine shop can do
