  1. Thats a 260Z, shaft, could be 2+2 or ZX, depending in lenght, looks a bit longish? The 240Z shafts have the slip joint thingy and are flanged at both ends.
  2. I have a pair of S130 body plastic scoops,
  3. Just like the FOSC Bathurst events, they were very mch versubscribed, they chose the entrants firstly from those that had done other prior FOSC events. James O'Brien, the Challenge organser, has said the same for his event.
  4. Previous assembler used two metric roll pins, and rammed the living heck on the smaller one to make it fit.The second one is a very tight fit.
  5. Got pricing back for re-rubbered in 80 Durometer hardness ( stiffer than stock, eqivalent to original Nissan Competition items) for, gearbx mounts, engine mounts, and diff mounts. They get thouroughly cleaned, degreased, all old rubber ground off, surfaces prepped, new compound rubber is then poured inside, the mounts have paper coated "dams" fitted, and the new mounts have no voids in their middles. $150 per item plus postage. Last I had these done, 12 years ago, they were around the 75-80$ mark per item. Do I go ahead and get the few I have here done???
  6. This gets "talked" about, every couple of years.
  7. Quite a few race/rally cars are using the inline blower heaters, 12v operated, Mounted to dash vents. Lightweight, less cost. Smashed screen, not such a hit on the wallet.
  8. It's sulphated up, and a cell has shorted, most likely. Have a look at the Full River brand batteries based in Sydney, they are a sealed unit, so they can be posted.
  9. 24dat's red zed isnt a works car, if it was, we wouldn't hear the end of it! It was used by Ross/Alan, or intended to be, in late 1980"s, Alan should he able to confirm, after he gets back from hs Japan trip, with family! It was setup as a rally car, much much later! The various bolt on goodies were quite commonly available, ( chucked out the back of Nissan Aust rally servce trucks, or given away at end of each year) Howard Marsden was very helpfull to the up and comers! Even gave away a complete Factory built car!
  10. Only drama with roo is, its infested with worms. Very hard to farm them, ie drenching, dipping, good feed. Wild pig/boar, also same, cut a fresh one open, and the wrigglers are intertwined in the flesh.
  11. Give Stew Wilkins a call, he may be interested!
  12. Becase most of the book-facers, have seen gearbox innards, and have lttle understanding!
  13. You going to skim the discs before changing brands? Discs now will have build up of existing pads. How old are they? Showing any signs of crumbling at the edges? If no edges degradation, maybe stick with them.
  14. PB 260, got your old one, yes, she was torn! Tim Davis, I am nt able to indicate how long or how much, as the factory that does them fits them in when they are doing the molten rubber compound. I'd be guessing at around $60 a piece plus postage, and around four weeks?
  15. I can get the diff mounts re-rubbered, to as new. I do need a few mre items in rder fr the factory that does this, to start. Minimum number f 10 items are required.
  16. Dont throw out your old one, if possible, post it to ke, I can get them re-rubbered to as new.
  17. Have a look at the Bits Of Italy ones, they are doing them for triples on all kinds of engines, including the Z's. Fitted one up last year, very nicely put together.
  18. You groove them in a full cross block pattern ie three longitudinal grooves, and herringbone type diagonal grooves ( sipes!) crossing from centre out, ie Wet/intermediate pattern, each blck about 3"x3" That'll soon heat them up. Suggest 3-4 mm deep, as a start. I've ron grooved Avons in hillclimb over many years, they work a lot better than Semis in a like for like sizing.
  19. What brands are these? And, How thick s the flat flange?
  20. I have a grooving iron I no lnger need, comes with extra blades. Depth of cut is adjstable You'll find cutting a blck pattern will cause the blocks to move/squirm, and this builds up more heat.

  22. If its the round shaft with alloy clamp levers, watch it, the clamps dont hold! As we discovered! Have gone for hexagonal shaft with hex hole clamp levers!
  23. What tyre shop was that, that thought a 235/50 on a 6.5" wide rim, was a safe fitment? 5/50 sure, but 235!
  24. Do you mean tighes 462c grind, as per their tables? 492 s not shown. For a mild grind, the Performance brand springs are fine. Does it have springs fitted? We can pull them out and comare stock to the Performance RR4' I have plenty of both!
