  1. You dont reckon the shop you got it from, with their experience, set it up to suit you?
  2. Was the master cylinder bled? There should be two bleed nipples on the master. If not, you can bleed in-car, it gets messy, use rags to soak up spilt brake fluid, and wash down paintwork after. With someone in the seat, hold pedal pressure, and crack open/turn the flarenuts for each of the two lines, then tighten, release pedal, do it again. You can get small airbubbles in the ports/passages inside the master. The standard proportioning valve is sealed, , it s actually a "Line pressure reducing valve",even if it is internally faulty, it will still allow full pressure through it. The other item is the safety/fail lamp switch unit, it to is sealed, unless leaking it wont be these.
  3. The guy is vague on nitty gritty minutea detail, on many many cars, on many of his videos. He churns, repeat, churns these out for the adoring masses. Like a lot of ther vdeographers. Its a money ( hobby?) making venture, that he just likes doing. Why dont the experts on these cars put up a video, a correct one, and allow it to be distributed? My daughter does make-up, and the odd piss-take video, shes had well ver 1.5 million views, and a subscriber base of over 50,000, She gets monthly residual cheques, from the mob that sell the side bar/banner advertising, and make-up companies get her to make "street/non pro" type vids. More to t than you probably realise, and this Wasabi cars guy s into it as well. The world of his subscribers will be telling themselves, Gav240, Lurcher260 & Alan T are three whinging nit picky tossers, and having a laugh, hunched over their 'puters, and wishing they had a drivers license,,,,,,you do realise that? The great majority of his subscribers most likely dont really care!
  4. I recently sold some to a Sydney member here! None left nw!
  5. I knw there are three different rectangular hole measurements for R200 pinion flanges, as for R180, there are at least two measurement patterns ( rectangle) there may be mre. All the R type diffs are made by Fuji Heavy Industries ( makers of Subaru cars too!) As for the munt points up the front, they are the same, bt IIRC some f the STI WRX dff hacks, had bgger studs.
  6. These really are our next best option, but, add on the USD$550 plus shipping to get the new machined output stubs, to suit our halfshafts. At least the Subaru diffs are cheap and readonably plentiful. An original Nissan R180 with LSD, can be $1200-$2000
  7. 4.375 ratios were Nissan Competition, now no longer avail. 4.1 was fitted to other mdels, that we did not get in Aus, unless imported. In years past the usual Datsun shops did bring them in. Try Stew Wilkins Motorsport, at McGraths Hill, or, MIA Engines at Brookvale, you are about in the mddle of both these shops, they may be able to supply something. 3.9 is a good comromise f affordability, availability, economy and performance. The 4.1 will be more $$$, better performance, less economy, hard to find. Forget the 4.6/4.8/5.1's from the front f the various 4x4 utes, unless you go racing on tight twisty circuits, rallying, or hillclimbing!
  8. Inox or WD40, and patience. Take your time, and work it back and forth. There will still be dregs of fuel, so refit drain plug. And, the breather hoses on top RHS will need undoing and prising off, before it will come away.
  9. I'll have to check, but pretty sure have one here in Brisbane. Was working fine when remved. The Gap.
  10. Hitting the Like button! Well explained
  11. Ah! Ok then, You can se pretty mch any f the std type 71B bxes. Yes, a 260 box, s a sweeter bx, due to the ratios. Hard to find though! Start hunting for a Bluebrd /Skyline/ZX/24K box, but you'll also need a manal flywheel, pedal assy and other bits. You can use a L20B flywheel with its corresponding clutch plate and cover.
  12. The USA aftermarket sellers seem to have a decent range, pity shipping s so hgh cost! Shipping out f Japan though, s far less! Kameari do some ZX items, look quite nice!
  13. You can get H4 High/Low bulbs in some rather high wattages, Not fully sure if some are legal,,,,
  14. Are you looking for 260 box specifically for the closer ratio gearset? Or , just a replacement box? If former, then yes, the 2.9 first gear 260 box is good, and are well worth the money to rebuild, provided teeth arent ruined. If its the latter, just use any B type box from any of the larger older Datsuns, mostly they'll be 3.3 first, some ZX's and utes, had 3.5 first. What is wrong/issue with your box now? Interested in a neat proper Close Ratio box?
  15. HANS Schroth brand, FIA/CAMS full approval, current spec, sliding tether model, Brand new, includes a pair of posts with all hardware. These have been proven to save lives. $550 Can pack and post.
  16. This may help,,,
  17. Glad to be of assistance. Many years of experience helps!
  18. You can get away with an up to 4mm thick spacer ring sitting under the thrust bearing, f required. Also, a "fixed" length clutch slave pushrod can be converted into a threaded adjstable length pushrod, but, you do need to also drill a hole in the clutch fork dimple ( gearbox needs to he out)

    Clacking

Is the timing chain oil plunger/tensioner working correctly? If t comes out too far, it can cock in the bore and jam. With the 3mm off the head, you did slot the mount holes for the curved chain guide? And, slotted the mount holes for the chain tensioner block, to "push" it over? You need a positive stop in those slotted holes to stop it moving back. Also the oil supply groove may need the slot milling further.
  20. If its cheap enough, take a punt on it. The front nput shaft will clean up, the thrust bearing will be cactus. The weird hole in the bell was prob cut by someone looking to see why the clutch throwout carrier was not releasing ( numpty mve that one!) You wont know ts condition until you pull the bell and ext off. It could be A-OK, or t could be rusted to the crahouse The shfter retaining pin and clip are available from Nssan. Easier to shorten a shanked bolt and use a nylock nut. Price for that, in that sort of external cond,,,,, $50-80.
  21. If I was hysically capable, I'd have grabbed the lt years ago.Warren bought a large amount f his original stock off Graham Krimmert, who had a huge NOS inventory and sheds full f stuff. It jst keeps moving around, it seems!
  22. Have heard today, via guys in the Sydney Roadster Club, that Warren has now sold all his stock, in one lot, a truck was seen loading many many boxes etc. Unsure at this stage who, but they reckon its staying in Sydney. Will post up further info, as it comes through.
  23. Look on rhs of engine, between spark plugs 1&2 On the bottom edge f the head. What does it indicate?
  24. You want Glbe Ind "Bathurst" or Performance Ind "Challenger" Both are almost the same, obvious dfference is the rim lips. See my above pst treferring to the jew wners f the dies from Perfrmance Ind.
  25. I have a complete LSD, full Nsmo clutchpack, new bearings fitted in 4.1 It had done very little work.
