Seems they're all getting a little tired, lots of reports of electrical faults with the switches and contacts. I'm thinking mine could be a spring problem, electrically it works fine it's just that it self returns if you let it go. Was fine last time I drove to the Xmas BBQ. I was thinking the same, buy another and refurb it before installing.

Got the hub painted wrinkle black, looks a lot neater now. The Mach wheel is fractionally bigger than the old compe one, it's makes the car much nicer to drive. The feel of the leather and the ease of steering at slow speed is a welcome change. I had a spare NOS temp/oil gauge. I've changed out the face plates for the metric type from a 260z gauge, thanks Neubs. (Gauge on left side of pic). The Kameari triple gauge set is all metric so no everything will read the same. Indicator switch might be on its way out, works but if turning right it needs to be held down ? There's always something to do!

While driving today the indicator switch will only stay on if it's held down when turning right. It stays on and no issues when indicating left. Any ideas?

Nice one Peter, glad to hear it all went well. Like the idea of the photo book, I've seen a few story boards at shows before and it's a nice touch to see how much work has been done.

I have no radio so I'm taking out the aerial and I'm wondering what people have used for this. Is any sealant required to stop water coming inside? Is their a one size fits all plug or a specific size?

Try removing the spring and run the suspension through complete travel.

Sweet car and even better that it actually gets driven hard. Unrestored is a big stretch, I guess it comes down to what people want to believe. It sat idle in 'Earls' barn for how many years? The hydraulics, carbs, fuel lines and electrics would have had work. He's even admitted to rebuilding other drive line items on the car. Restored or refreshed it is, but it makes it no less of a car. *EDIT. I've watched it a few times now, such an awesome sound!

Here is the figures I did a while ago with my setup. With a 24.8582" tyre dia (225/50/16), 3.9 diff and 0.745 fifth you'd be doing 2,450RPM at 100kph. I switched out the 0.745 for the 0.833 fifth and added a Kameari CR set.. For me running the 4.11 rear and the original 71b box 0.864 fifth I was doing 104.06kph at 3100RPM. Now with the 4.375, the RB20DET 71C with new 0.833 fifth I'm doing 103.96kph at 3100rpm. I dont do much hwy driving, 2hrs is about the max and if I get worried by it I slow down or speed up a little. I think it's fine on the highway, as long as I'm not going to do an 8hr trip at 110kph. Your figure will differ a bit cause of the 0.864 fifth. It's a completely different beast. The diff ratio change will transform the car!

The factory SU carbs will have a vacuum pipe off the rear of the front carb, google is your friend. The one cm spacers are factory phenolic spacers

I ran R888's on road and track as well. As a wet track tyre they were epic, as a dry track tyre I felt they were off the pace. Perhaps the compound is different now and the dry grip is better as that was 2011-2013. I also found them very noisy and they seemed to tram track on contoured roads. I've got 4yo Bridgestone RE11s semis still on the car now. They're shot but even from new the wet grip was terrifying, aqua planing at 80kph on the freeway during a sun shower so much I was seriously considering stopping and waiting for the light rain to stop. Their dry grip is great though. I've just run the r-specs for everything but it's expensive and you use up good grip on the road where you don't need all of it. If you have two sets of wheels I think the best bet is to run the wet tyres on road and save the dry ones for track days.

Ah ok those ones. The frame is stainless steel, are the brackets not the same?

Is it the screw in bracket inside the bottom of the stainless quarter window frame? I had bugger all rust in my car but that steel cad plated bracket was toast, I internally tig welded the corner of the stainless frame and got rid of the bracket all together. The upper one is still in place as it was in very good condition.
