  1. Looks very good after the blasting!
  2. Z cars and datsuns in general are 4x114.3mm I believe.
  3. Ha, I thought those leather wrapped spokes were unmistakable.
  4. Leg room looks a little tight Pretty awesome though! Is that a Mach wheel? lol
  5. Great story so far, let the fun begin. 907 green with all the stainless and chrome polished up will look sensational!
  6. What about keeping it stored and wrapped up? That's what I've done with my old L29. Good L28's are getting much harder to find.
  7. It's looks tight in the pics must be the angles I took the photos from. There's heaps of clearance though, the front bar is right up against the dash.
  8. Yeah will do, I just put it on quickly to see how it looked. I still have to paint the old hub before the wheel goes back on.
  9. My stalk looks a lot straighter than that, it must've been fiddled with at some point.
  10. It's possible my stalk has been straightened at some stage allowing sufficient clearance for my sausage fingers.
  11. I don't recall having any issues with my wheel when I had it. The 'Compe' steering wheel has similar dish to the standard wheel so you shouldn't need a hub or spacer. Do you have a stock wood wheel to fit up and test clearance to the stalk? Is it possible the stalk is bent a little more than normal making it too close to the wheel?
  12. There's plenty of love still for the old school L series then!
  13. They fairly close in terms of the vinyl pattern compared to my NOS ones, like Gav said the Masonite is different but it won't be seen. I'd be very happy with them. It's nice to see some good quality reproductions becoming available.
  14. Yeah it's very 60's styling, a lot the Italian cars have a similar style with the metal horn pad too.
  15. This one will stay with the car forever I think. Everything in the car smells of petrol, I guess that's what happens when all you do is start ups in the garage. At least it didn't smell of huggies Hahaha, I said that to my partner, her response was "no, you need to drive it". So true!
  16. I couldn't contain my excitement and I did a test fit of the new "Mach" steering wheel. It's AWESOME ?????? and the finish/quality is just so good. I'm really really happy with the way it looks and feels in the car! The hand stitched leather smells so good, us poor Datsun drivers are used to the underwhelming smell of vinyl and exhaust gas. The plan is to paint the larger "old dull" hub wrinkle black and then let the "Mach" adapter and wheel really pop! Apologies for all the pics but it really is a beautiful thing
  17. Little updates as not too much happening. I finished the strut brace brackets off with wrinkle black to blend into the colour scheme better. Also finished off the tapered seats for the retaining nuts.
  18. Very good price, some great bits on it and you know it's been assembled by a master. Good luck with the sale Mossy!
  19. Looks to be good quality, I can see the difference between them and NOS.
  20. You must be over the moon Andy, its looking fantastic!
  21. Would that hole be for A/C drainage...
  22. There's nothing like a fresh gearbox its makes the car a lot nicer to drive especially if it's close ratio too. Where do you find the room and time? Lol. Look foward seeing more info on the green car, it's a great color for zeds.
  23. The headers look and sound great! What size is the pipework from the headers back? I'm interested to see how the SU's go come dyno time, do you have any previous figures to compare when the webers were on?
  24. Good job Pete, rule with an iron fist! ☺
  25. Love it, be very interesting to see what it goes for.
