  1. Always like the idea of the single down draft carbie, easy to tune and still gives good power and fuel efficient. Do you have it running with the Holley?
  2. That's great, there's another barn find (literally as I can see the paddock). Looks like a very good base, especially everything working. The build begins.....
  3. Makes no sense, Channel 10 paid a fortune to win the coverage from 7. They promised more hours of Free to Air and they are obviously not delivering that. There was a NZ 101 race on which was an old race and nothing live..crazy.
  4. Hi Hokin, welcome aboard.....if you have been reading you know the drill....need photos and a story
  5. How are the points failing? Burnt I assume. Sounds like either too much current or arcing. Could be a wiring issue or the incorrect spec part, I would think either the capacitor or resistor.
  6. No, has definitely been sold
  7. Andy, I am fairly sure that the panel beater is the one where my 90 year mum's A3 Audi used to go to be repaired (on more than one occasion ). It had a few big hits and when it came back I could not tell that it had been in a bingle (must admit I did not look too closely). They were prompt and professional and I would recommend them to fix a late model car based on what I saw.
  8. Looks like you are getting well into the panel work, hope you will not find anything too bad. Good luck!
  9. Very nice, so now you can take it out for some "hard" cornering
  10. +1 the best body you can afford is the cheapest stress free option.
  11. Really cool shot, turning some heads

  15. I thought the 180B and 200B ran the longer box that fitted the Bluebird and the Bluebird box fitted the 260Z. (I know that because I fitted one). The short box was on the 510 1600 and I fitted a 5 speed (not sure what it was out of) with the alpha pattern (1st where 2nd normally is). This fitted in length wise and the only mod was a longer hole in the floor and maybe a modified rear cross member (I fitted it +30 years ago so am not too sure).
  16. Anyone want the "Datsun" plates for VIC? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/merrylands/other-parts-accessories/-datsun-custom-no-plates-datsun-victoria/1073466152 And I know the owner for the ones in QLD (not me) if you ant to buy them too.....
  17. I found the way to reduce photos on a iPad is to email them to myself. It should give you the option to reduce the file size. (some versions it does not but you just hold on the file size and it gives you an file size option.)
  18. Looks great and well matched with the mags....
  19. Datsun Fairlady Sports 1964 $1000 http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-Fairlady-1964/SSE-AD-3304349/?Cr=1
  20. Now that is a nice car....much work to do on it or any big plans?
  21. Sad to hear but these guys have shut up shop, one of the last if not the last companies making wheels here. Have a set on both of my cars. A few companies have old stock they are selling... http://www.performancewheels.com.au/Home/Home.asp
  22. The below link shows most of the typical parts in the car for AC. You will have the evaporator and TX valve inside the car behind the dash. If you are going to sell the whole setup you will have to remove it. If you leave it in make sure you seal off very well the pipes. Once you have pulled the parts out ensure each section is well capped off as AC systems hate moisture and contaminants. Not sure what you mean by the vacuum tank and solenoids http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunZIndex/Electrical/AirConditioner/tabid/1673/Default.aspx#1
  23. Did it run OK at any time? Has it started playing up after what you did? Loss of power sounding electrical, maybe timing out by a long way, coil to distributor lead earthing out. Only way it would be fuel if it starts and runs Ok is if the fuel pump is not working or a fuel blockage
  24. Thought these may help with identification...are there two different designs? http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunZIndex/Steering/SteeringColumn/tabid/1745/Default.aspx#1 http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunZIndex/Steering/SteeringColumn/tabid/1745/Default.aspx#2 I think you are after Item 33 on type 2?
