  1. Thanks mate, was just after something a bit younger but its all looking too hard. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the info. Any ideas how a NISSAN CA18 DE MANUAL GEAR BOX TAKEN OF A CA18 S13 SILVIA 1990 MODEL would go? Is it the same as a SX180? Thanks again Tim
  3. Thanks for the info guys
  4. Hi guys, what headlights are we fitting on to upgarde now? How did the upgrade go?
  5. Thanks for the info Luke. I have a AC out of the later model that has the vacuum valve and my heater is cable operated. I am going to try and fit the later AC box to the older heater box. Seems like a big job to get the heater box out Cheers Tim
  6. Thanks, I see that you hae the one for the 240Z, I will chase Lamb as he seems to have the one for my rocket Cheers Tim
  7. Does anyone know where you can get a spare parts listing for the 260Z's 2+2, the whole car. Seems to be difficult to get parts from Nissan if you do not have the number Surely there must be a CD around with all this stuff
  8. Just bought the bits to fit a AC into a 1975 2+2, has anyone done this before? I have the whole assembly that goes under the dash but i assume the heater box bit will be the same what is there now? Thanks
  9. E88, you were right Cheers
  10. You win, I am impressed
  11. Thanks guys for all the feedback, I'll go without the additive as I agree that if I burn out a valve it will be a good excuse to do the head up. I bought it in Albury and drove it home to Brisbane and used all the oil it had in it! I am guessing its a true Datsun and I am loosing it through the valve stems. Throttle off down hill and out comes the blue smoke when I hit the gas! No its not on gas. I will check the casting number on the weekend
  12. As I remember it you can pull out the speedo drive gear without too much truoble, retained by a small keeper plate. Any idea how you work out what the correct one to put in? Thanks Tim
  13. Had a Series 1 280ZX and it had a steering box, like you get on a Datsun 1600. I assume that is what you saw. So if the Series 2 went back to rack and pinion it seems like a big mod for Nissan to do. Maybe if you get a LHD rack from the States it will overcome the back the front problem. All too dam hard!
  14. How does a R180 from a auto (if thats right) run in a manual (R200) 260Z? Is it done? What do you do to get the speedo reading correctly again?
  15. I have been told that the Series 2 had a steer rack similar to the 260Z. I have seen the Series 1 and cannot see Nissan changing it back. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks
  16. I am running a stock original L26 in 1975 260Z 2+2. It has been run with fuel additive however I have been told that all Jap alloy heads can use unleaded without the additive. Does anyone know if you need it?
  17. Chris Please look at info under this forum, 260Z Power Steer Cheers Old Mate, Tim
  18. Oops, added to wrong forum item Sorry about that!
  19. Sorry I was wrong about being supplied with cross member. You have to modify your own, picture below
  20. I have emailed Warren at Allzparts and it is $475 including steering rack and new cross member (wrong, does not include cross member) and then you need 280zx pump, special hoses and fir electric fuel pump. I heard from a guy selling one in Brisbane, he had to mod the cross member, but looks like Allzparts do that now
  21. Allzparts in Sydney do a kit to fit power steering onto a Zed. Has anyone had any experience with these kits?
  22. Allzparts in Sydney do a conversion kit (http://www.allzparts.com.au/) which I am looking into at the moment. Looks like you may have to modify the cross member which I am not too keen on. Uses a Subaru steering box and 280zx pump etc. I am going to post a question to see if anyone else has fitted one.
  23. Does anyone know if any other Nissan 5 speed boxes will drop into a 260Z? Like a Australian built Skyline, Pintara, Bluebird Thanks
