  1. Has anyone had any experience with "Koya" brand? http://www.koya.com.au/cars/bn-tek-15-bfcustom-fit/
  2. 260Z gearbox ...oops....here is Datsun/Nissan box, not a 260Z http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/berserker/engine-engine-parts-transmission/datsun-260z-gearbox-/1072865244
  3. This one looks to be good value for the boys in the West http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/noranda/cars-vans-utes/1975-datsun-260z/1072834914
  4. Thanks heaps, I will try the filling up procedure next weekend. Does it normally expel the water when the engine is running or when you switch it off? Just not sure why I can drive it for 30 minutes with no issue, stop and check it and its OK. Then at some time after that seems to have the issue. Its as if the temperature is slowing raising up, maybe its just a radiator cap. What pressure cap to you fit? Interesting the manual also gives reasons for overheating as "ignition too far retarded" and "incorrect carburettor adjustment". It is missing under load at the moment and I have a intake leak on one throttle of the carbie too (which I cannot find ). Running a coolant in it too, I will flush out as you suggest. Thanks for all the suggestions there, experience is always worth is weight in gold. Not sure about the scoop, will have to have a look.
  5. Some help with my 2000 Sports please? Can drive it for well over 30 minutes no worries but when driving it longer, typically at higher speeds on the open road when I stop it drops a heap of water out of the overflow. With the motor running I fill it back up again and it will do the same again (typically). Last time it was OK and made it home fine. It runs a radiator with a non pressure cap and a separate reservoir tank with the pressure cap. I always fill both to the top. I have been told once that you should not fill the reservoir tank and maybe this is where my issue is. I have replaced the thermostat just to be sure it was not partially opening so this cannot be it. You may wonder what the temperature gauge is saying, well nothing as it does not work. That is my next question, any good ideas for a separate temperature gauge? The Sports runs a voltage regulator that has taken out my temperature and fuel gauge...still some work to do there.
  6. Hey Rev, life throws up some challenges, the Zed ones are the more fun ones...hope it helps the health challenges
  7. As you mentioned Gav, they did not have the harder to get parts but they did have some parts I could not get here. Suggest if you are looking for a part go to the following on line parts manual and search for part number you need and then see if they have it: http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsunS30/DatsunZIndex.aspx
  8. This one has apparently been sold....
  9. Ok, that sounds similar to QLD then. Just wondering if you need to ensure it has the pollution control gear on it and are there any things special to NSW. I have heard that the number plates have to stepped off the body so the speed cameras can catch them more clearly.
  10. Sorry if there is another thread like this one... How hard is it to get a Zed registered in NSW if I bring it in from interstate? QLD is relatively easy but I remember having to take them across the PITS in Sydney and that was very hard.
  11. If you have good feel on the clutch the and you can see the slave cylinder shaft move the hydraulics are all good. The clutch plate is seized to the flywheel so when you push in the clutch, while the pressure plate releases the pressure on the clutch plate, the clutch is still stuck to the flywheel and this spins the clutch plate and the first motion shaft. I used to get around this by towing the car in gear with the clutch depressed, comes off in a jiffy. Or use Scoota's idea first as that is easier.
  12. Called them this morning and the guy said they have just received the listing for Nissan parts and was quite surprised that they would have parts for 1960-1970 Datsun. Sounds like they have just loaded a Nissan parts catalogue onto their site and have no idea what they have access to yet. So I have a direct contact now that I have emailed a list of parts to which are on their site with a price and I can add into my "Cart". See how it goes......
  13. My fastener guy recommends this company in Sydney for specialised washers and I am chasing the mob in the states too (see my other post) http://rageem.com.au/
  14. Chased up the guy that sells me all my fasteners at work and he suggested this company in Sydney for the washers: http://rageem.com.au/ Not sure if they sell to private buyers
  15. I want to see the glass
  16. I have done the same on some Sports parts but had trouble with the email as it kept bouncing back, which email did you use?
  17. As anyone ever bought parts from this mob in the States? http://www.newautoparts.com/nissan/auto-parts/nissan
  18. If you are asking for genuine parts beyond nuts and bolts, it has been quite poor. I have researched and found parts numbers (I must admit these were for my Sports and NOT the Zed) and they did not have many parts at all. I am now looking at buying new parts from suppliers in the States, this I have only just started. The washers you should be able to buy from a good fastener company...if you struggle there I may be able to check with some of my contacts.
  19. Something is telling me there was not too much convincing required......they are one nice looking car...I came very close to getting one as a daily drive
  20. WTB 260Z 2+2 Looking for a car for a young lady driver: - Must be P plate legal (original size engine) - Good enough for daily drive - Manual - Price around $8-10k depending on the car - Sydney region preferred but not critical
  21. Thanks guys, have sent a pm to Mickboy....thinking now it is just as much work to fit new synchros on my box...probably should have a go.
  22. Aren't these a bit of a rare thing - rear louvers http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/craigmore/other-parts-accessories/datsun-240z-external-rear-window-louvre/1071611827
  23. Thanks dat2kman. Must admit always "double shuffle" up and down, just not as good at it as I used to be. Will just the synchro rings fix the crunch? I would think a early 240Z box would be just as hard to get....but I'll ask
  24. Fantastic result, so reassuring to know that the work you have been put in will be appreciated and the car kept well.
