  1. I believe the young lad has been out and struck a deal. Thanks very much, it is appreciated.
  2. PM sent, I get around
  3. You are on Facebook Pete... Thought it looked familiar, All Japanese Day, Banyo 8-6-14
  4. Well there you go, did you talk Col into getting a Zed and help him with the rebuild...he did a good job
  5. Thanks for heads up guys. Mike I think we all have a series of experiences that leads to our love of Zeds. It's another reason why some are worth so much...mating numbers or not....2 seater or 2+2....custom look or stock....early build or later .... or them all.
  6. That's a very flash cave, looks much more like a proper workshop. I am sure it will be put to good use, cannot wait to watch the build.
  7. Thanks Rev, I just bought a set of tools for the Bimmer that will likely do it. I think all those type of clips are likely one use only I will check what I can get from Supercheap
  8. Attempted to remove the tail lights to repair/replace their seal to hopefully stop the fumes getting in to the car but had little luck. When I tried to unscrew the clips on the top (see photos below) most of them broke. What am I doing wrong and where do I buy some more? There are also a couple of other clips in the back section with a centre pin as well. How do they come out?
  9. Wow, its really coming together. Its a great look white with those mags
  10. New dashboard? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/stirling/other-parts-accessories/nos-nissan-datsun-260z-dash-board/1068442453
  11. I must admit I do like the look 280 2 seaters...and yes the rear hatch
  12. Hi mate, a few other sites: http://www.carsales.com.au/ http://www.carsguide.com.au/ http://www.tradingpost.com.au/ http://www.ebay.com.au/ http://www.drive.com.au/ Have fun looking
  13. Very interested, have left message on your mobile
  14. Thanks Gav, sorry I was not clear enough. They want to buy a car this week and one that is not going to get pick up for defects after 6 months like the last one he bought. I have helped a few friend get their kids cars in Brisbane but cannot help this kid in Melbourne. My boy wanted a Jimny so they are not too much a girls car!
  15. Gav, the Jimny I assume is with you in Sydney, need one in Melbourne
  16. For my 18 year old I bought him a 318i Bimmer for $10.5k: - 8 airbags, mum's happy - handles like its on rails, the boys happy - gutless, mum's happy - rear wheel drive, as all good cars are - looks cool (or whatever they say these days...sick...bad...)
  17. If it was my son, yes and he already has one but not sure this kid lives the dream
  18. Needs to be in Melbourne, do you have a photo? Manual or Auto?
  19. Hi All Looking for a daily drive for a friend's 19 year old boy in Melbourne. Will be doing country miles and needs to be a good safe car (over protective parent). Budget is under $10k Thanks
  20. Looks nice..................
  21. I can look at it if anyone is keen, could even store it for a little while if needed.
  22. Brand new tail lights: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260Z-RH-rear-new-tail-light-NOS-/141540010167?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20f47128b7
  23. Here's one link http://www.biopatent.com/engine.html "The cam gear should now fit snugly at the end of the cam shaft with the cam peg fitting into the number 1 hole of the cam gear. Torque the camshaft gear bolt to 43 ft-lb." "Finger tighten, then torque all the bolts (starting again from the center) to about 35 ft-lb and finally torque all the head bolts to 54 ft-lb."
  24. Was a bit harder than I thought. Suggest you call Cold Drive and ask if they sell kits for them, not sure how lucky you will be. I ended up fitting a Unicla compressor (or a more common brand Sanden will do) on my 260 which I assume will also fit a 280ZX but it looks like the ports come out the rear whereas mine out the top
  25. Can you post a photo of the compressor and its data plate, I may be able to help to where and what to buy. You should be able to buy the parts from Cold Drive if they are available. http://ishop.cooldrive.com.au/ The grinding sound is not good. The compressor could be seized or seizing. Will need to be re-gassed for sure
