  2. Is this the one? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kardinya/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240z/1061920994
  3. I would not be surprised that it runs better with the factory air filters....I am sure the Datsun engineers spent plenty of time working them out! More than Ramflo........ Thanks Mike, PM sent and donation done Cheers Tim
  4. Looks like a good box: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-5spd-gear-box-/301416147465?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item462dcd6a09
  5. Wow that's a fantastic looking engine bay...one of the best I've seen. That would be great, happy to pay for them .... freight plus $50?
  6. I am looking at taking off the standard air filter box and putting on something more "sporty" I am trying to get that throaty sound more than anything else. Any suggestions?
  7. Looks fantastic, need more photos so we can look on with envy
  8. Looks great, those wheels really set it off!
  9. It may vary as if it is low and you use the clutch a few times quickly it will pump out any air. Suggest you look for fluid around where the shaft from the top of the clutch lever goes into the cylinder on the firewall and also take the rubber boot off the slave cylinder (with safety glasses on, OH&S ) on the gearbox and see if any fluid drops out of there. Only other thing is if the pressure plate is starting to fail but that should be consistent
  10. Its hard to get the time for such interests, I have only driven mine 3 times in the last 6 months. Keen to see your seats I have the leather covers in the garage, the 260 seats out in the shed and I just have to get the someone to do the foams and fit (I am not as good as you on fitting them) Merry Xmas to you too.
  11. This one would be good if not just for the carbies http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260z-Nissan-Datsun-/261652385107?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3cebb28d53
  12. Very nice indeed....would like to hear the note as is went up the street.....
  13. My son's first daily drive was a 280ZX, speaking as a seasoned parent.....do not spend too much doing up the first one as there will be bumps and scraps (my boys was written off and ended up in a 260Z). Drive it for a year or two, have some fun while your tastes mature. Welcome to life of a Zed owner...its a hard one to kick once your in
  14. Hard to see in this photo as it went passed me very fast.....brown 2+2 at Nerang this morning around 9:30am
  15. As I have said before..... "Why is it so? You can spend many thousands on engines, drivelines and suspension.....but a car always looks much faster with a great set of mags Mine looked ordinary until I put the right mags on it That looks fantastic!" To which Sydney Mike replied and so true....... "Wheels must be the car equivalent of a boob job"
  16. Is this the one? That did look like a Zed with great potential, good pick up! My Zed was from Albury many years ago, glad to see you have reinstated the Zed quota.
  17. Will be very interested to see how the power steering goes
  18. Bugger, would have liked to have gone, if just to take the Zed for a run....already booked for a 35k charity walk!
  19. Looks great
  20. Two seater, turbo L28, auto.....and a good price...should go quick http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-260Z-1975/SSE-AD-3040589/?Cr=6&sdmvc=1
  21. I think that a 2 Seater is seen to be more of a sports car as the Healey's, MG's, etc. were 2 seaters and they are really just for the driver. Needing the seats in the back is admitting that you are either now no longer young (have kids) or not old enough (not an empty nester). I have to admit that I bought a 2+2 the first time so I could put the kids in the back To my eye the proportions of the 2+2 are better and if you could get it with the same roof line as the 2 seater I would say it would look better. More the proportions of a E Type. When looking to get back into a Zed I was hell bent on a 2 seater but more for retaining its value than anything else. Its amazing that you can buy the same mechanic spec of a 2+2 for less than $10k that you would pay $25k for a 2 Seater. I love them both, happy to own either
  22. Out a QR Mayne depot today, could not miss this one....very nice daily drive
  23. I once sourced some 260Z parts from a guy out at Walloon (passed Ipswich). May be try him http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/walloon/wrecking/datsun-nissan-240z-260z-280zx-300zx-skyline-toyota-cavalier/1051295892
