  1. I strongly disagree, Alex: From this: To this:
  2. Les Collins Racing sells complete manual conversion kits: pedals, new master & clutch cylinders with line, flywheel / clutch assembly, fork & TO bearing as well as a reconditioned gearbox of your choice. 03 5623 3108
  3. Nissan still sells new ones...
  4. They are zinc coated, then painted as an assembly. I'm unsure however, if they were painted on or off the car. Most original hinges I've seen are not painted on the back of the mounting flange.
  5. Wonderful stuff, but apparently isn't stable under Acrylic based paints....
  6. 2 Pac. Yes you can repaint over it. Depending on where the repairs are, you may have to repaint the entire panel.
  7. Buy these two books: Read both cover to cover, then ask any questions that the books don't answer.
  8. Because nothing removes paint better than 100% chlorine, ya dork.
  9. I thought you weren't allowed to drink liquids after 4pm?
  10. Damn Brucey... Alyssa OK?
  11. Peter lives 15mins down the road from me - I seem him at car club events regularly enough. I don't remember him ever running a Sports 2000 (I stand to be corrected), but he sill has his original Sprite/Midget that he raced in Grp D. He also built quite a few Minda clubmans as well...
  12. You'll have to excuise 44014 - he's got a bit of a shot fuse.
  13. '74 260Z's used the late 240Z bodyshell (excluding the tail light panel), so the Rare Spares floorpans are a direct replacement. FWIW I agree with Gilltech - strip the floors back to bare metal & see what they look like. If they are rusty in spots, it's easier to patch them rather than replace the whole floorpan.
  14. Anything is repairable. Without looking at the damage, it's a bit hard for us on the net to give an accurate answer. Is there someone GOOD in Perth that can weld Alum. cylinder heads? Depending on how severe the cracks are, they head my have to be re-heat treated to bring the hardness back up. I'd suggest you replace the WP, inspect the timing case for corrosion, replace the top & bottom thermostat housings as well as the thermostat when the head is refitted.
  15. A 240K L24 won't bolt in without oil-pickup mods. You'll have to remove the sump, the oil pump & timing case, then the rear oil pickup boss needs to be drilled & tapped. Then you have to back flush the oil gallery so that no swarf/grit can get into the oil pump & ruin the engine. Then reassemble with your Z sump & pickup. Then cross your fingers you've gotten all the swarf & grit out... IMHO, You're better off finding a L24 out of a Z.
  16. I can supply you a rebuilt L24 with mild 733a cam, with a mildly ported head for $6,500. Add another $800 for a brand new Scorcher (Bosch) electronic distributor. PM me if you're interested.

  19. What was this thread about again?
  20. I feel this video sums up this thread adequately:
  21. Have you managed to get a gap to appear between bellhousing & the sandwhich plate at all? If not, the sealant & dowel pins will be holding it. Put the input shaft on a block of wood, hold the gearbox vertical & with a soft-face / copper hammer, hit the bellhousing downwards.
