  1. Let's just see what this car achieves on the open market. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2630.msg164549/topicseen.html#msg164549
  2. Thanks Peter, I'm very interested in that! I'm guessing it will go over $200K USD. I might put my guess in at 250K USD. This is based on the KPGC10 going to auction recently and achieving 240K USD, given the PS30 is rarer and a lowish VIN I think it will have a lot of appeal to an enthusiast. Only thing I would nitpick is lack of original battery tray and cover.
  3. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271768831315 N42 engine head.
  4. By the way the original roof skin part no. from Nissan is 73102-E4100 My search reveals nothing in stock. Can't hurt to ask a Nissan dealer though?
  5. Unless you want to do it all again, replace the hoses even if they look ok. Who knows when they were last done? My 72 240z has a minor leak from the heater tap, so I'm going to have to tackle this also. Not sure if RHD and LHD have different hose set ups? Might be worth checking, I assume they are the same between LH and RH drive cars. In terms of pricing, if you have the part no's that will help. $75 isn't too bad (if includes delivery) but it will take at least 2 weeks shipping from the US unless you ask for express.
  6. Hi mate, I used Iron Chef / Iron lady to import my FD RX7 from Ireland back to Australia (Personal Import Scheme). They should be able to assist with importing your Capella Coupe from Japan also and will advise what needs to be done and estimated costs etc.. (This will vary for every car and depending on what ports you're going to and what work you wish to tackle yourself in the process). http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=13761.0 As an FYI: My FD RX-7 cost approx $7000 AU all up, which included Blue slip (RWC for NSW), Pink Slip, Green Slip ,Stamp Duty, Quarantine, Wharf Fees, Shipping, Insurance, Compliance.... The list goes on! As a thank you send us some photos of your Capella Coupe, but perhaps start a new thread?
  7. Looks like a well preserved example, I recall when it was for sale last. The fenders look like they were off the car at some stage judging by the non standard fasteners used and the underside looks to have had some form of protective rust proof coating. This would make a nice little weekend car and would be nice to see it maintained as a driver.
  8. Example of Rally Car Replica's with these mirrors. Fuji Speedway (432-R) and another 432-R I've got more photos I can add later if requested?
  9. I don't have them on my car yet. The photo js from a Shelby Cobra. The works cars had them fixed to the door. Look at some 432-rs of the period also as I've seen them used on those also. I want to replace my 200b mirrors on my red 240z with these. In black they look good also.
  10. I didn't mean restrict classifieds. I meant create a new private discussion section for verified only members.
  11. I was looking at Raydyot mirros that attach to the stainless trim. To avoid drilling holes in my fenders or doors on my 72 240z. I like them as they are period correct and were used on Works race cars and the Rally Cars.
  12. Best way to learn is dive in and give it a go.
  13. Call in and see Ash. Depends how much you're willing to spend on a good roof. I don't think he will chop it up for a couple of hundred bucks though. Roof is pretty mint looking. Hence I wanted it but I already have a roof skin in ok shape. I just know how much work is involved in preparing panels now . Hence $800 + for a good roof skin starts to seem reasonable. Ash will be at the shop so go see him and the car.
  14. Ben at Otomoto did a carbon roof skin I think. Give him a call perhaps? Otherwise Ashley at Moorabbin Autospares has a 260z 2 seated that he might cut up. It has perfect floors but battery tray, windscreen scuttle, doors, hatch and a few other places are shot. Looks like salt air killed it in all unusual areas. Roof looks solid. I told him I would be interested in roof if he parts it out but give him a call anyway.
  15. Back on again this year, unfortunately their enrollment system is an absolute mess at the moment. But it should be on tomorrow night. I think the current contact person is: Jing li 02 9217 5270. Otherwise try contacting the tafe and asking for someone who can help with enrolling in "Introduction to vehicle restoration". I called: Geoffrey White P: (02) 9217 4112 Who put me through to Jing Li
  16. haha best player, good analogy. Yes for sale needs to be open to public. However I have very much being considering a private forum section for verified members. However I'm not yet sure how to go about policing a verified member section. Open to suggestions.
  17. Did it sound like this?
  18. This seems to be a problem as these cars go up in value. As per my experience, I still feel something was not right about what happened to me recently. See this thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15414.0.html Who leaves a classic car like that unlocked in the street? Then tells me how cool he thinks the car is the next day...
  19. The original 260z metallic green is really nice. On my Christmas wishlist: This 260Z 2+2!: Would give you a green colour but remain period correct and won't look outdated in a few years time.
  20. I recall this car, glad it's going to get saved. A proper built L-banger is an awesome little motor. Bardan we still need to catch up at some point.
  21. Thanks for making me look lazy, home renovations + car restoration. I honestly don't know how you do it. Anyway it's far too hot today for me to be in the garage. It's like an oven with a tin roof. However thanks for providing some inspiration though. I really should just go and tackle a few more spots on my car rather than waiting for the tafe course to start again.
  22. Nice, what are they like to drive compared with the S30z? When I lived in Dublin a Fairlady Roadster was on the market and I considered it but it was priced higher than the RX-7 and I was worried about it rusting in the rain over there so I passed up the option but I do like them.
  23. Great car, smart buy I reakon. In terms of fixing your clock, I have this option for a 260z owner. It's the calendar clock - should be a direct plug and play in a 260z. Not cheap, but still about 1/3 the price of a Twin Knob Rally Clock w/oscillator box. If you're interested in it, send me a PM. Otherwise for 260z's (different clock to 240z's) there is a repair guide on here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2939.0.html
  24. It really is the only way to take care of the rust bug properly. Wouldn't want to have a nice new paint job blister again and rust bubbles come back through.
