  1. Welcome, S30z's may seem more plentiful over here but the reality is you'll hardly ever see 1 on the road. The only 1 I see on the road is my own 240z . Good luck with your search and welcome to our small community.
  2. Can you please post photos of these side by side? I'm very interested in the combustion chamber shape of the 05L head.
  3. The R30 skylines did have E88 EFI heads. I'm sure I've seen them before in Junk Yards. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/125595-e80-head-questions/?p=2356505 Full thread here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/125595-e80-head-questions/
  4. I just skipped through it quickly I'll watch it all later tonight when I get home, but just looking at their rust repair work it's very amateurish looking. He's welding in square patches as oppose to circular, so it's going to pull the sheet metal in all directions, just making it harder overall. Although the welds looked ok. They are just patching up the rust they can see, but as we all know the cars rust from the inside out, so not sure what the purpose of repairing this car is and painting it when it will likely bubble through again in a couple of years, especially in the UK. Couple of muppets....
  5. Is the EFI E88 chamber different to an earlier E88?
  6. Have you driven it yet? Sounds funny with the open headers. I'd be interested to see what your impressions of it are, my 72 240z has really high compression and the cam feels a bit flat as the revs climb, which could be the cam or it could be a poorly curved distributor or SU carbs needing a refresh. Both things I want to address at some point anyway.
  7. Genuine HS30-H goes for $47,000 AUD http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m128781754 No headlight covers either.... I believe it to be genuine because the chassis prefix is HS30 (like our market) where the H usually means the use of an L24.
  8. Not worth the hassle, but make a good engine head for practice port work etc.. Perhaps cut it in half so you know where the water jackets are etc..
  9. Nice work on getting the NOS 1/4 panels that should take care of 20% of your problems . Where did you source them? Should I even ask about cost? Although probably still cheaper than fabricating new ones or restoring what you had. It's good to see your car making progress, it motivates me to work on mine. Since we are having a race after all, aren't we?
  10. Oh I thought you were looking for ideas, I'm not planning to sell mine. It actually took a while to find mine as it seems the Jimny's hold value and not many are on the market. I had a quick look on carsales and only found this for the price range. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Suzuki-Jimny-2006/SSE-AD-3182871/?Cr=20 A few more options here: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-vic/jimny/k0l3008844 Truth be told I had a hard time finding our car, I wanted a 2006+ model with VVT, lowish km's (around 100k) and ideally not abused off road. I found plenty of earlier cars but it was hard to find a well priced later model. Eventually we got a bit lucky since our car had rego expiring and the owner wanted to sell so we got it a couple of grand cheaper than advertised. I get the impression most people like to keep them as they are a good car and very practical. They are also desirable as a 4x4 being light they are quite good off road, I've not really tested mine yet in that regard but would like to eventually. If you think this might be an option and want more info on Jimny's let me know? His mates might give him stick for driving a 'ladies' 4x4 but I'm well beyond any of that nonsense .
  11. I got a Suzuki Jimny 2009 model for around 7.5k. Great little car. Good on fuel, cheap parts and very practical and versatile. Slow and not overly comfortable on the freeway but I've driven it from Sydney to Melbourne quite a few times now and it does alright. At crazy current oil prices it is about 45 to fill it and gets around 400+ km per tank. Can be pushed to near 500 as I found out but was a bit worried I'd be walking. Air con, power windows and air bags as standard. Easy enough to work on if so inclined as engine bay access is good but I dont work on it due to time constraints.
  12. This entry is dedicated to Bozo. I'll create a separate thread to track values at some point but for now I'm putting it here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-DATSUN-240Z-SURVIVOR-ORIGNAL-OWNERS-CA-GARAGE-FIND-ALL-ORIGINAL-NO-RESERVE-/231453104726 Original owner 1973 Datsun 240z. Sold for US $18,289.00 73 240z's tend to command less value than earlier cars in the US market. So this is a good price for an original car in a market where usually 240z's are historically the cheapest place to purchase an S30z globally.
  13. http://www.flabber.nl/linkdump/plaatjes/deze-spookachtige-file-stond-bijna-70-jaar-lang-stil-in-de-belgische-ardennen-1929 Apparently all gone now.

    240z Gearbox Mount

Kavs do you want the cross member mount (bolts to body of car) or the rubber mount that attaches to the gearbox and then to this cross-member piece?
  15. @Nick. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14778.0.html If you can find a good second hand pair, you might be able to restore them to this level. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=10094.0 Which is certainly worth the effort as NOS ones go for $1500 AU+ in Japan
  16. Pretty sure the 'hood' (or bonnet as we say in this country) badge for a 260z said "DATSUN" just like the 240z. The market that got the 'Z' badge was for the Fairlady Z in Japan .
  17. Very cheap, hope you can resolve storage issues.
  18. I think it's a steal given how rare it is, never seen 1 on the road! I also think it's a pretty cool looking little ride also. No doubt has some rot in the doors and probably other spots but I'd say given how Japanese cars are starting to pick up in value this will look like a bargain in a few years time. A better alternative to a KE55 or other KEXX coupe if you're looking for something really unique.
  19. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b168232957 This can't be right? 8M YEN for an early S30z in need of work?
  20. Only 1 Z show up? Is that James Flett with the Mustang?
  21. Pics?
  22. Rev not sure if you spoke to Ashley? But he definitely has more than 1 pair of S30z seats - tatty shape. He may also have rails also, would save on shipping from interstate.
  23. Is the 1/4 panel early or late 240z? Does it have provisions for a vent? I could be interested in it either way.
  24. Oh that was you, thanks for that mate.
