It was all a bit irrelevant wasn't it? But just goes to show the popularity of the S30Z they have had a lot of content featuring an S30.

all cars featured I had seen before the rb26 was the one pitted against a viewer designed/voted 370z on a track, the road kill z, I think the orange one is the sr20 car owned by a speedhunter photographer? and the black one i have seen doing burnouts on YouTube:) wouldve loved to see a proper comparison of them all and how all these variations stacked up against each other in proper trials/drags........oh well

Mr Navi Sagoo & his 2+2 - powered by a LCR L33 (and I built the exhaust :) )

Just goes to show how far away from a true 'historic' event the EA Safari 'Classic' has become.

It's like a re-enactment of the American Civil War, but this time the Confederates have got laser-guided missiles...

This looks like an RB30 motor in it, but a cool replica all the same.

*Edit and it's an RB20E from the looks of things.

You're correct, there was no 240z feature, it was on screen for about 15 seconds as an intro to their 370z review in episode 6 of season 2.

You can view the entire episode here: http://www.streetfire.net/video/top-gear-australia-season-2-episode-6_part-1_703068.htm

The episode is viewable in 6 parts for some reason - go to 2min45 of part 2 to see the 370z feature (and the 240z momentarily).

Hi Guys, Hope everyone managed to have a safe NYE.

Cool video. At the start and in the red Zed at the end the Japanese model looks like Akiko Wakabayashi. If you remember James Bond, (You only live twice with Sean Connery in 1967), she was the honey driving the Toyota 2000GT. The time line would be correct. There were some interesting ideas back then. The drop down net for the back seat passengers, a good way to get your face sliced up. The rollover didn't look too nice if you are as tall as Lurch. But I did like the enthusiasm of the Rally fan. It's amazing how modern the design of the 240z was compared to the other cars on the road at the time.

Yeah truly amazing footage what a new year treat and the quality was great. Nissan was really hitting their stride back then. Great to see the red 240z with the Topy steelies, the safari gold 240z doing the turning circle tests and the blue interior early 240z being used for ergonomics etc..

The s30z was wayyy ahead of its time really. When you think of how big American cars were in the 1960s and how a 240z is still relatively practical in terms of parking and fuel economy today.

Great Vid, not just the Z content but the 1600 as well.

It is interesting to see just how far body integrity has come since the early 70's

Thanks for posting.

I saw it posted on another forum and thought it could be of some interest here.

Certainly wouldn't want to be in a big crash in either car, looks quite scary! The comment about sharing parts across multiple car makes rings very true as my brother and I have swapped several things over the years between the Z and 1600.

Some nice cars in this video.

Lots of 260Zs and 280Zs too! Seems to be in Saudi Arabia based on the number plates.

I like how that drag car doesn't have flares.
