Administrators gav240z Posted November 19, 2014 Administrators Posted November 19, 2014 2 very short Z432 videos. 1. (you can just spy the 2 knob rally clock) 2. Much longer video of Z432 repairs. (~25 min mark you can see under the car)* *Note: Non standard looking floor-pan. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 8, 2014 Administrators Posted December 8, 2014 A 432 in the USA: I'm pretty sure that's Kats car, as seen here: http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/ He's taken it to the US a few times I believe. I find the level of engineering and detail on the 432's in particular to be incredible. I mean it was 1969 when they were first built and the level of detail and the way everything was thought out, to me it blows my mind. Even the standard air box and oil coolers really are a work of art in terms of it's packaging and routing of hoses etc.. Actually seeing the video made me feel a little better, in the photos that car looked like everything was 100% perfect and immaculate but the video highlights the fact that not all components are in as new condition and have slight wear and patina on them. I guess it's kind of like meeting a model in person and discovering she's not quite as perfect as her photoshoot haha. Quote
sydney mike Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Yes, it's Kat's 432-it mentions it in the credits at the end. If he does take the car on "tours" overseas it would be nice if he could bring it down under. Perhaps organisers of Z nationals could persuade him to be a guest? The car looks like it does get driven, it's a good thing. It means he is enjoying the car and sharing the pleasure with other Z enthusiasts as well. Cars were meant to be driven, paintings to be admired behind ropes in a gallery and real estate for investment! Totally agree, as I said it's nice to see it's not 100% flawless because with my own cars I sometimes beat myself up about things not being quite 100% right, like the diamond vinyl I installed not that long ago had some air pocked in it that just wouldn't be flattened out and removed. When I look at Kats car I see the same issue so I know it's not that I didn't do something 100% correct, rather that's just how it is. I guess I look at it like it's validation / vindication for myself. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 11, 2014 Administrators Posted December 11, 2014 Check this one out, not sure if it's been spotted before. Not seen that, shame it was a brown 280z of all colours and S30z's to use haha. But I have to say what a fantastically mediocre tune. Yet it has 9M views. Good to see more S30z's appearing in pop culture though. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted December 11, 2014 Administrators Posted December 11, 2014 Hey.. Hey... now, What's wrong with a Brown S30? It's not so much the brown, it's the big 280z bumpers I detest most. They totally ruin the S30z's clean lines. Quote
ilbert Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Must be getting old, Gen Y love this music, a pity there's no mp3 plug in the car... However, interesting choice for the clip, Cult status is multigenerational, this is a good thing, perhaps there is hope yet. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 18, 2014 Administrators Posted December 18, 2014 A mate of mine is a camera man and he spends his spare time looking through archival footage and often converting it to digital and posting it on Youtube these days. He has so far found lots of old car commercials and other fun stuff. He told me he found a clip of a 240z doing a rally and he recently posted it on Youtube here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrY9wv3OlfE Anyone know a South Australian by the name of David Luvel? Sorry probably spelt that wrong. Also here is another clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC4h0XfRq0M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL_hrEQ4Fss This time Banana Farmer, Wayne Hoy and Barry Smith in a red 240z. Quote

This vid seems to be a weird copy of this original - The petrolicious logo wavers and moves about as if they have filmed another screen or similar. Either way - the original is better quality and I suspect has been posted before, but is a good watch for sure. Love his exhaust fume comment around 4:50 haha Quote
