redrbzed Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 At the recent driver training day at Sandown I used my phone to shoot some video of the Zed in action. In it you will see my GPS speedo and the shift light. This was the first session. cheers, Sinisha Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 23, 2011 Moderators Posted May 23, 2011 Very interesting throttle setup on a L6; in other words..me wantee! Quote
roastbeef Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 two great vids! redrbzed kicking arse and taking names... and mental slide throttles on a L6 Don't know much about them, but I know someone who has some slide throttles off a BMW supertourer, apparently they are great for WOT circuit use but a bit of a pain everywhere else- might have just been the tune though. redrbzed Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Have been playing with my GPS track data from my Trackmaster Android app, did an overlay of a lap on the previous video showing speed and position. cheers, Sinisha Quote
redrbzed Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 It's me again, Vid is of me at Phillip Island doing my PB 1:48.4, there is a GPS data overlay as well. cheers, Sinisha Quote
Riceburner Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Looks like some handy wheel work, a few quick catches and all round very smooth! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted August 26, 2011 Administrators Posted August 26, 2011 A bit bizarre but nice looking Z all the same. Quote

luvemfast Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Just added the video of Grodon driving my 240 around the Island last month... Sounds good Dimitri. What time did Gordo get? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 5, 2011 Moderators Posted September 5, 2011 With only one run (as in 5-6 laps) best was a 2:01. Zed is a bit too soft for the track and needs more grip. Springs are F280lb and R300lb so will have to go back to coilovers and sectioned struts to lower it again.. What bothers me is I had all this stuff and sold it all. Now have to get it all installed again Quote
Lukas Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Not sure if these have been posted already. Yellow Car - One of the better Z videos I've found as far as overall quality/presentation goes. Utah Z Club 2010 Promo Video - No s30 unfortunately but some decent footage of a 280, 300 and 350. Quote
mossy Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I love the sound of this thing, also it looks like one of the crossflow heads on this car that was mentioned in retro auto magazine? http://www.youtube.com/user/sato1511 He also has a pretty cool website http://sato1511.blog40.fc2.com/ Quote

At least that's what it looks like. Quote

C.A.R. Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Not bad... But it would have been nice to see a few more different Zeds though... Quote
260DET Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 The son made it for his dad, I think that's all the video sources they had. There was not much other incar taken that day was there? Quote
redrbzed Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 It's me again! Did a sprint with the WRX group last Saturday at Sandown, some in car with GPS data of my best lap, a 1:19.89. This time in HD. cheers, Sinisha Quote
NZeder Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 That's the LY cross flow head. At least that's what it looks like. Well the build has does its job it is not an LY head the spark plugs are on the incorrect side - that head is a RB20E/RB30E head that is custom modified to look like LY for a pic of real LY see here http://www.pitroad-ts.com/tuning/L24R.jpg That head has custom made intake, rocker cover, machined front and new front cover to support chain drive conversion, nice to have access to a foundry and $$ for creating such a head just for the look (performance is not great from these heads so you would not do it for performance) see here for more info http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,8760.0.html Also another video of the engine/car is here Quote
Luni260z Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Well, this is easily one of the best zeds I've ever seen on the track. EDITED after seeing redrbzed's vids. Holy shi t. Quote
NZeder Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 My mate Ricky's race from last weekend - in the wet. The escort that passes him has new good wets and if the zed could run an engine out side of the rule like what is between the struts of that escort zeds would run RB34D (RB engines are the same vintage as the engine in that escort - but at least Nissan did sell and race DOHC S30 in larger numbers than what this escort engine is meant to replicate - so you think we should be able to run RB's) Quote
bluerat Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Great video's Guy's, here's an in-car from the hillclimb car...http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=YBirIavBZKc Some of those Euro hillclimbs are epic and that Zed is Magic!! Is that your mate with the 'small bore' Ld crank engine NZeder? your right that Escort is a Weapon, Love the Alan Mann Colours. What engine was it 'Replicating' and was that a Broadspeed mini in there as well? Quote
NZeder Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Yes that is a Broadspeed mini. Yes it is a small over bore L28 (now de-stoked to fit 100% in period correct engine build) Holbay/Warrior but using YB Cossie head on a sort of pinto bottom end (sort of - as in not cast iron and more displacment than run in period ) so nothing like a Holbay really but he managed to get it through - god nows how. So if a YB head is like a 16 valve Holbay head of the day then a RB engine is like a S20 engine which was FIA approved for the S30 chassis (and more to the point sold in a production car not a special like the holbay- now if the OS Giken TC24-B1 was FIA approved then that would be like a Holbay)- given a number of features of both engines ar the same. S20 = DOHC 16valve 6 cylinder, alloy head, cast block. RB = DOHC 16 valve 6 cylinder, alloy head, cast block - has same intake port spacing and exhaust spacing, blocks look sim in design aas does the RB26 head intake manifold - ie RB could be made to look like an S20 much like a YB can be made to look like a Holbay. But I bet we could not get that past. Quote
