. Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I don't think this will surprise anyone. But I want my 240z to look like this. The original BRE 240z!!! I'm getting closer every week. Quote
. Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Here is what it looks like now. A few fibrelgass panels, some black paint on the grill, match the colour of the air dam, fit a red spoiler and I'll be very close. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted May 11, 2009 Administrators Posted May 11, 2009 And now for something a wee bit different. http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredvehicles/130_0905_datsun_240z_coupe/index.html Different alright, but I could tell it wasn't quite right even before reading the article. The car looks great but not sure I could do that to a Zed, even though I love the 2000GT, I imagine the cost of a replica would almost be the same as the buying price of a 2000GT. Quote
Cdr Zero Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I don't think so gav. 2000GT is roughly a squillion dollars these days. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 There is quite a size difference between the 2000GT and the S30. (Photos nicked from classiczcars.com) Quote
acf321 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I just LOVE those 2000GT's ... In choosing a colour to paint my 240Z project, the best inspiration I can find is the GT's off-white, with black wheels (wata's) and a satin black bonnet. The GT looks so svelte in this scheme and I think it will give the S30Z an underated old school sporty look. Must say, looking at the two together gives one a real idea as to just how tiny (read LOW and narrow) is the GT ... My last 240Z in 98 was off white and the colour was really good. Quote
chartoo Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Id like my zeds bum to look like this maybe in the future 280yz flares Dual exhaust Flush one piece taillight panel Reverse lights removed Maybe clear indicator lenses- to run both indicator and reverse lights Quote
. Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 don't think removing the reverse lights would be legal. But sounds good otherwise Just saw a 280zx 2 seater. I wish mine was a 2 seater. woo hoo! Quote
chartoo Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I would delete the reverse lights but run both reverse and indicator bulbs through a clear indicator lense if that makes sense it does in my head Quote
chartoo Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 nah like these babies. actual clear indicators lenses to suit 260z http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-260z-280z-clear-tail-lights-lenses-1974-1978_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem5d24d09d59QQitemZ400049610073QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Quote
RBZ 260 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 bit bored at work and since i need to do few fixes on the 260z i though it will be time for make over # 2 for my 260z 2+2 in near future. here is my dodgy Paint photoshoping skills on my 260z. Sulio hope u dont mind me borowing your flares at glance u wont notice the changes but there are quite a few and still few more to come but i think ill be happy with the result. so whats on the table. #1 getting rid of the sunroof for good. YAY #2 removing all the door locks and door handles (eat your hearts out thieves ) #3 custom rear 1/4 windows adapting 2 seater ones into the 2+2 ones never liked that top curve always preffered the style of the 2 seater ones. #4 removing the fuel filler cap and hiding it behind the number plate #5 ZG flares and wider rims #6 front spoiler update plus few more other bits i may adapt from the 240z to realy confuse the situation what car it is. 620Z Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Many on that list sound like a path I have been down. Good luck with it. will take some time. Quote
MickyG Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Not what I would do to a Zed but you've got to admire the commitment & the matte black looks good. More info here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2978513 Quote
