Hi I have had my 260z 2+2 1976 for over 20years and when the car was painted years ago the new windscreen and rubber was replaced and never really fit properly leaving gaps in the top corners. Also the scuttle tray has a gap between lower windshield rubber.am I missing something? As the car is getting some paint work done can any body please help with these issues.I’m going to replace the rubber and screen. Is there a difference between the 2+2 and coupe?Where is the best place to get a windshield rubber.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using the wolf creeks for about 5 years now and they havent broken yet. They have had about 30 launches at the drag strip both with a 255 m&h racemaster and also a et drag radial with the front left wheel off the ground. Also countless burnouts and power skids.Have broken everything else so far accept the cvs.Engine is making 495 foot pounds.I do recall that the wolf creek guy said they would break at those power levels but so far so good as there wasnt much choice at the time for the price. When I snapped my moustache a few months ago I took the cvs to be checked in Dandenong at a cv place and he said they were in perfect conditionHe also said the axles looked super strong and if I broke anything apart from the axles that parts were readily available.

LSA engine same as in the holden gts.Makes 550hp.$10000 and with a few upgrades will make 700hp+.

For $10000 an LSA engine would be fun, same engine as in the gts,559hp out of the crate and with a few mods make 700hp.

I tend to go to a few car shows as well and find that it is a great way to enjoy our cars and to show them to others who have a common interest being old cars.Sure not everybody likes the same thing, but you,d be surprised at peoples interest in zeds. Some of the shows have taken us to places like hanging rock,Philip island(where we drove on the track),maroondah dam, moorabin airport etc etc where its ended up being a family thing as well. Also some of these shows have raised money for cancer and also community fund raisers so its not all bogan related. But mostly its a great excuse to look and talk about cars for a couple of hours and to drive my cars.So good on you mr260

Wow scoota similar to mine.I think they just cant handle the torque after years of abuse. After examining the one i broke it looks like the reinforcing was done because it had a crack and was patched then painted.I should have stuck with the cars original bar and maybe it would have lived a bit longer.Anyway hope I have better luck with the arizona zcar one.Should arrive this morning.

Alloy moustache bar and alloy supports for an r200 cost me $995 including gst and freight from adelaide to my door in melbourne. The mostache bar itself was $390 plus gst.To import from usa is over $600 US,then conversion plus freight etc so theres not a great deal of difference and also time.Chris has to make something as well.I felt it was quite fair as he gave me a warranty as well for breakage.

Hi Roger it broke 9cm from the left bolt almost straight down from top to bottom.Have a photo but everytime i try to load its saying file is too big.
-
Yes its chris fergurson.Don't think theres a website but found a facebook site and was able to email him then call him.
-
Found out the main reason it snapped was that it had been reinforced and spring steel cannot be welded on.Actually bought this moustache bar a while ago off this forum. Not the guys fault he wouldnt have known.I didnt.
-
Ended up talking to chris from arizona zcar today in Adelaide. He explained their moustache bar setup and how strong they are with some seriously high horsepower cars running them.Top bloke to talked to.I ended up ordering it and should have it by monday at the latest.Problem solved I hope.

Took my car to Calder drags On Sunday as I haven't raced it for a while and on my second launch snapped the moustache bar in half.Im interested in getting a stronger bar that will handle the power.Basically I have upgraded the weakest links in the rear as they break so the moustache bar is next.Any info on an upgrade would be great eg Arizona z car, techno toy have them but not sure how strong they are.thanks

Do/Have You Let People's Opinion Affect How You Modify Your Car?
DAT392 replied to George's topic in General Discussions
I have been very busy of late about three years with business but always try to visit this site.Love these cars. With my car, the way it ended up,depended a lot on me and my friends interest of tuff street cars.Powerful with a bit of old school. Most of my mates have muscle cars with serious power and i wanted to be different as i beleived the z to be a better engineered car than a toranna,hq,camaro ,xy etc and heaps more all round fun, straight line, stopping and cornering.so the end result i think has alot to do with the purpose of the car.Factory standard restore, custom, race car ,show car or a bit of everything?Go scoota. -
Gutter chrome sold pending payment.cheersp
-
Gday mate,I'm interested in the gutter chrome.you can contact me on 0413461014. Thanks

No handling issues at all.Have nearly 500hp and broken everything else but the diff touch wood, but mine came with an r200.I just changed it to a beefy LSD.corners or straight line it seems fine.

Haven't been on for a while as I have been super busy for 18mths with new business and no time for cars, but I would talk to scoota if I were you.He did some rust repairs on mine and the job was awesome.Glad this topic has come up as I am gonna find time and see if he can reinforce my rails and some other bits and pieces cause i might be adding a bit more power.cheers.

When I put my new dash in,my car had 0kms on it.But if its the right car and someone is happy to buy it at that price I spose thats what its worth, good luck to them!
-
I tell you what a video of the job probably wouldve been good as scoota pretty much explained everything in detail as he went.Theres that show on channel 31 called a rodders life, maybe theres room for a scootas life ha ha.Having trouble with my computer down loading more pics but I think everyones got the idea.I would highly recomend scoota{MARK}for metal repairs.
-
Mark did an awesome job on my car.His work was top notch and to do it all in 6.5 hours was incredible.I watched the whole process and he basically explained everything he was doing as he went. The dog leg looks like factory and any painter should have little work to prepare for paint as the lines and curves are all correct.Well done mate. Will attach some more pics later as ive gotta scoot!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday was the annual hanging rock car show and decided to cruise up in the zed with a few mates from the south east. While cruising along the Calder I hear the sound of a healthy six cylinder, turn to my right and it's a very clean mustard zed with blacked out wheels.I recognized the guys from one of the zed barbies I had attended.it was scoota and his mate sorry can't recall his name.a wave and a smile and they were off with the growl.caught up with them at the show talking about our cars etc, great guys.there were a few zeds there and overall it was a great show.
