Yo-Yo
^is the red one a member on here or does anyone know of the car? Just from the photos I can see bonnet doesn't line up, engine bay is different colour. Need to ask the seller if dash is cracked. I'd want to see more pics of the interior & better pics of the wheels & brakes. Is there anything else I should look out for?

thriller
^ +1. Happy to look & take some photos of the usual suspect places if it's in the Adelaide Hills, or east of the CBD.
Yo-Yo
Thanks guys, I've left a message for the seller asking where the car is located. He lives in Underdale, is that nearby for anybody? I've been told also that the rear bumper being shaved would cause a problem for blueslip, does this mean that the rear chrome bumper is also the rear reo? Gidday Yes you are 100% correct the rear bar is also the reo. For purpose of the blue slip the removal of the rear bar would be viewed as a modification to rear impact zone and a reason for a fail. Some inspectors may turn a blind eye but not many. That said, it is not reason to reject an otherwise good (minimal rust) car. Yo-Yo
^Yeah, if it would cause issue at the pits in NSW I could always renew the SA rego for 6 months while I source a new rear bar etc. on another note I spotted this one on gumtree, another SA car but LHD (not a problem for me) http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/victor-harbor/cars-vans-utes/1973-datsun-240z-coupe/1042006564 not really a fan of tan interior though, how much would a set of black factory seats & black door cards cost on average when they pop up as spares? My brother recently bought a car from WA and he had to renew rego within 2 weeks and forfeited the remaining out of state rego. I was surprised and rang the RMS to confirm and sure enough they're bending us over.

Moderators PB260Z Posted April 12, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 12, 2014 Doesn't surprise me, different name but same old RTA Too true, and if you ever have to cancel a rego they only refund the rego fee and not the taxes, levies and other BS charges. Then it is only the complete unused months less an admin fee. Nett result you get F all back. Hmmmm, gotta love the government
chris240
That gold 260 with the gold simmons, looks to have ACT rego plates on it, dont think Ive ever spotted it.

They don't pop up as spares often and when they do they are often water damaged and otherwise shagged with holes cut in then to fit a 80s speaker unit. But this is a LHD car and the door trims are different to our AU cars so you could probably find a good second hand set on eBay US. I actually like the tan interior but the easiest way to rectify it would be a can of black vinyl spray paint. If painted correctly it won't flake off etc.. I spoke with the seller, unfortunately not really what I'm after at this stage. Still bidding on the red one on ebay in the meantime, just trying to suss out with one of my local workshops if the rear bar will cause me any issues for bluslip in NSW

Administrators gav240z Posted April 16, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2014 I can't help but feel terribly guilty about cutting up a solid shell, I'd rather it get saved. But if others are going to turn it into an organ donor I'm in. Has anyone called to see if it's available still?
