Administrators gav240z Posted September 6, 2013 Author Administrators Posted September 6, 2013 HS30-00063 be a bit of a project for someone interested... I would be interested if I wasn't a broke assed student... ha ha ha $10,000 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kardinya/cars-vans-utes/1970-datsun-240z-coupe/1026979813 1970 240z (HS30 00063) with matching numbers engine. Bodywork and respray completed in 2000 along with a top end refresh of engine and new clutch with 5 speed 280zx gearbox. Car has travelled only 48000kms since. Has 280zx distributor and extractors but everythiung else is original. Dash was reconditioned professionally and is still looking new with no cracks. Car has been in storage for almost 5 years (is unregistered) but has been run regularly. This 240z is just like all the others with some rust showing through on bottom of doors, rear wheel arches and along the roofline above the doors. Under battery tray looks ok and the spare wheel housing is rust free. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to restore a series 1(number 63) matching numbers 240z to factory specification. You guys are quick... damn..... http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kardinya/cars-vans-utes/1970-datsun-240z-coupe/1026979813 Who painted it Stevie Wonder? That's a lot of rust to come through since it was last painted. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It was painted 13 years ago. Rust probably hadn't come all the way through when it was painted. They tend to rust from the inside out. What looked like good metal on the outside was probably slowly rusting away on the inside. In the same suburb as me. Quote
