Bit of a shame hey Scoot, that it rotted away like that.

Notice the amp gauge? Only early 260z's had that before switching to the volt meter.

Looks like it has the original head unit also ;).

Face plate is original, the head unit is not however.

Since when does a nut and bolt restoration involves rattle canning the entire gearbox and drive line black ???

LOL, it looks like a nice car, but for the asking price (top dollar really) there is a few things I'd want tidied up that's for sure. No badges irks me, car looks naked without them. Also the mirrors, why oh why? My previous owner put those god awful 200B mirrors on my Z. I can't wait to discard them. I would burn them if I thought they would catch fire, sadly I don't think they would burn well. I loathe them almost as much as i hate sunroof's in Z's. ;). Then the SU's are not correct, looking at the interior it's missing the diamond vinyl and the center console looks a little shabby, also the horn button is well dodgy.

All these little things wouldn't be hard to make right and would certainly make the car worth the asking price.

He's probably hoping for a middle east oil baron buyer.

260Z with an identity crisis (GTO look alike similar) $37,000.00 WA

You'd think he'd have painted his "Datson" Ferrari red  instead of commodore red.

1963 GTO FERRARI replica. One of the best looking and most successful sports racing cars of all time. Only 36 originals ever manufactured (An origional reputedly sold for recently 25M!).

Built on 1977 Datson 260Z shassis, 2.8ltr nissan motor with 20 pound paxton super charger, new gel battery, new race seats, new factory carpets and trim, new race radiator, underbody Rhino lined, knock on wire wheels, new tyres, all new bushes, new door and window rubbers throughout. Man I want those headlight covers!

Bidding has been aggressive early on, already at $4k +

It's in my area, so if someone needs it inspected I may be able to drop by before auction end.  8)

Anyone know if this is a factory colour for the GRS30 coupe's? I feel like it is, but my knowledge of later 260z options is a bit weak compared with early 240z's etc...

260z 2 seater in Adelaide.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1974-260z-2-seater-datsun-coupe-5-speed-manual-/261392532005

Starting price is $16k will sell for whatever auction price reaches apparently.

Note: Datsun badge on lower front guards is not correct for a 260z, but I understand wanting to imitate a 240z lol. 240K steering wheel (not my thing) and racing pedals  >:( but these are minor details. Rest of the car looks relatively honest. If it's as good as the photos depict well worth it.

This caught my eye, at 16k start will be interesting to see what it goes  for.

Certainly looks tidy, with a just few little things to do

Does anyone know this car ?

The guy selling the car in SA has a problem with truth! When asked if he had a buy it now or a private sale option he said and I quote 'the auction is no reserve and will sell via Ebay' He obviously thought that money was more important than integrity and ended the auction early! Obviously someone came up with enough cash to bend his arm - good luck to whoever bought it, it looked like a nice Zed.

I got lucky with car #150 - the seller had people offering him more money for the car but he said it will sell for what it sells on eBay and let the auction run it's course. After it was finished a couple of people called him to see if they could offer more or check it was actually sold. He could of sold it for more, but he did the right thing and sold it for it's auction price.

It does kinda suck that he said he would run the auction and didn't. Although as a seller if someone rolled up with cash in hand and said I'll offer you this much and it's sold then and there I'd be tempted also.

Had a relative look at those two for me about 2 years ago. Apparently full of bog and chicken wire with a spray job hiding some horrors underneath. Apparently the guy had about a dozen s30's all sitting outside in the weather rotting away. Could explain why they haven't sold yet after all this time.

If those two cars are the ones I am thinking of from Unique Cars, then I'm pretty sure they are sold, but the seller has other Zs for sale, but just doesn't want to pay to re-list them. Could be wrong, but I remember reading a thread about them previously. They have been advertised in the magazine since I started reading it about 4 years ago. I stopped buying it a few months back, so I couldn't tell you if they are the same.

Yeah those are the ones. Still in the current issue of unique cars. Occasionally pops up on gumtree aswell.
