Administrators gav240z Posted December 17, 2013 Author Administrators Posted December 17, 2013 Already sold. Not surprised I knew it wouldn't last long at that price, regardless of condition. I would have bought it for the roof alone at that price and sold it off in bits to recover costs, but I would have felt terribly guilty about it for a whole 10 mins lol... 240z's are getting so thin on the ground as projects that I'm sure he could have asked double that price. Triptych Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I do love that one just don't have 20k. Quote
44014 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 The different colored panels make it not a 20k car to me. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 18, 2013 Author Administrators Posted December 18, 2013 The different colored panels make it not a 20k car to me. Agree. The customisations are also not my cuppa tea. All relatively easy to change though. Quote
Triptych Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Looking at it on my monitor it appears to only be the doors that don't match which is one thing I would question the guy over. He has owned it for a long time but the looks of things and I am a big fan that you will get the original motor with the car as well as some other spare parts he has around. 240z prices seem to be all over the shop these days I am actually wondering what they are selling for because I see some listed for a long time ranging from 15k to 60k. No the rear guards are darker then the front quarters. That one for 60k will never sell for that money the ones that are selling are the mid teens with a few mods to around 20k if the body is good. I would expect low 30's for something with a mint body and all the brakes suspension interior and engine done. But then random good ones pop up i recently picked up a mint body 260z for under 8k Quote

That is a big drop in starting price - but I wonder what the reserve is , $12K ? Quote
Agno Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Well straight away it's back at $12k from multiple bidders with zero feedback so I suspect the previous owner is just being a dodgy bastard Quote
MATTY Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Well straight away it's back at $12k from multiple bidders with zero feedback so I suspect the previous owner is just being a dodgy bastard Hmm very suspect indeed, considering when i'd just chucked the link up it had zero bids. i can see it being relisted again but. i doubt its worth 12k even if the body is 100% i only paid 13k for mine and it was running and reasonalby straight too..... oh well time will tell with this one though. Moderators PB260Z Posted December 30, 2013 Moderators Posted December 30, 2013 Hmm, does indeed look sus, all the bids within a few minutes and by 0 feedback user. On the occassions that Inhave sold stuff on Ebay I am always sceptical of 0 feedback bidders. I would always send a them a message to confirm they are legit. I agree with Matty $12K is too high, given that it needs, as a minimum * Engine * Interior All those little bits and pieces that take so much time an "Honest" auction from $6k would be interesting to watch, and even a little tempting. Time will tell. Quote
44014 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The reason that car has a nice paint job and no rust is because Jake (decoy) plowed it into the back if a xf wagon about 8 years ago... The body on it is pretty good and yes the engine that came out was tired and it will need a lot if finishing. I think it is worth 10k as I have actually worked on the car bar many years ago. Quote
