lightmaster240z Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Who watched Dogs in space ! tonight a true classic Auz move from a day gone by. Quote
Six_Shooter Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 If you want to see a 260Z 2+2 be a major feature in a movie watch "Safety Not Guaranteed" Not too bad a movie either! I'm pretty sure that it's a 280Z. I say that simply because the 260Z was a one year only car here in North America so it's pretty rare, and it has the large 280Z bumpers. I don't agree that it wasn't a bad movie... The pacing was awful, and the story was odd. It was somewhat original, and it had an S30, which are the only two reasons I watched it a second time. Quote
chris240 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Watched Wolverine...the one where hes in Japan battling with the Yakuza..... 3stars.. Preferred origins from 4 years ago. Also watched "Jobs" apple etc.... Better than expected. 3.5 stars Also watched kung fu Dog......dont ask ! The blond chick is a stunner, movie....2 stars, blond chick 4.5 stars. Quote
George Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I've seen a few lately, as always. I might list them at some stage but for now I just wanted to add one I finished a few minutes ago. The Kinds of Summer (2013) - Coming of age theme done with a comedy twist. It's short and to the point with laughs in all the right places, the typical conflict you can see a mile away and the same ending you've seen in other movies. Far from original but don't let that stop you from experiencing the ride because that's what it's all about. It was a sleeper hit for me and I gave it a 9/10 Quote
Hamiton Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Is it just me that I watch half of the movie on TV and find it entertaining? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 18, 2014 Administrators Posted January 18, 2014 Not last night, but right now on SBS One I'm watching a documentary called Microtopia. Which looks at different ways people have created their own place to live or call home and alternative living styles. I love this sort of thing, but then again I'm a bit of a hippy to be honest. C.A.R. Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 but then again I'm a bit of a hippy to be honest. Agreed. Get a haircut you hemp pants wearing tree-hugger. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 18, 2014 Administrators Posted January 18, 2014 I did get a haircut yesterday. Quote

sydney mike Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Been cleaning out the garage and throwing stuff out. Going through the dvd collection and decided one last watch of this one before throwing out: Legend of Speed (1999) is like a Hong Kong version of Fast & the Furious. No S30's, just 2-stroke NSR's, EVO vs WRX, and one Porker. Funniest part for me was when the hero gifts his mechanic a new laptop- "Its a Pentium II 400!!" whoopee!, well it's '99 I guess. Trailer here: Quote
George Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Side Effects (2013) - Slow paced initially but builds to a solid crime thriller. Surprised me on the whole. 7/10 Quote
C.A.R. Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Blue Is The Warmest Colour (2013) - French (subtitled) 'coming of age' movie about a teenage girl living in northern France. It won the Palme d'Or award at 2013 Cannes Film Festival. About an hour in, the scene... umm... well... f*ck... *cough* err... ...it kind of left me gobsmacked. If you are of a modest disposition, perhaps avoid this one. It's also 3hrs long... 4/5 Quote

nizm0zed Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Removed link to porn hub people can find it if they really want... If you dont feel like watching 3 hours of french movie, there is the 'ahem' bit... Obviously not work safe, kid safe, maybe not even wife safe. Quote
George Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Oldboy (2013) - A poor remake of a modern classic. Give this one a miss and check out the Korean original released in 2003. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 21, 2014 Administrators Posted February 21, 2014 http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/39001-my-teacher-s-wife Happy Gilmore meets American Pie. Not that great. Thought it was made in the 80s pretty dated. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 "oldboy" what a poor remake like so many other taht promise so much and fall so short. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted March 3, 2014 Moderators Posted March 3, 2014 Well actually tonight Flying High II - stupidly funny movie, not sure if it or the original is better Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 3, 2014 Administrators Posted March 3, 2014 On my flight to San Fran and back I watched a few movies on board the plane. 1. Pacific Rim - Like GodZilla but with Mech Warriors, not much substance to this film but probably appeals to the kids. 2. Enders Game - Enders Lame is what they should have called it. A cross between Starship Troopers and something else that's been done before, I like Starship Troopers (original) but not this...Harrison Ford was pretty average in it also. 3. Gravity - I didn't think it was that special. Interesting but I guess you guys gave me high hopes and I was a little disappointed. Watching on a plane also doesn't help. 4. Russell Brand's - Brand X series. I think he's funny but he might offend some . 5. Captain Phillips - About Somalian Pirates hi-jacking boats. Pretty good film / story actually. 6. GetAway 2013 - Done before, totally unrealistic for a number of reasons. His card had damage off like most Xbox games, unlimited fuel and suffered no mechanical faults throughout the entire film. IMDB gives it 4.3 out of 10, I'd say that's about 1.3 too much . Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted March 3, 2014 Moderators Posted March 3, 2014 3. Gravity - I didn't think it was that special. Interesting but I guess you guys gave me high hopes and I was a little disappointed. Watching on a plane also doesn't help. Just landed into Adelaide and watched Gravity on the flight, and have to agree was expecting more from it, I suspect that the tiny screen detracted from the impact. Quote
George Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 I watched Gravity on Vmax 3D and was impressed and then watched it at IMAX 3D. Recently watched a bit of it at home. It definitely needs to be seen on a large screen. It's not a film that will blow you away with the story. It's eye candy and very good candy at that. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted March 4, 2014 Moderators Posted March 4, 2014 Watched "Jail Bait" last week... If you're into womens prison films and would like to see what happens to a nice, well endowed young girl when she accidentally kills her abusive step father... this might be your movie of the year.Low budget but you get the idea. Mr Camouflage Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 2. Enders Game - Enders Lame is what they should have called it. A cross between Starship Troopers and something else that's been done before, I like Starship Troopers (original) but not this...Harrison Ford was pretty average in it also. It's a short story from the 1970s, that later became a book in the 80s. It won a couple of sci-fi writers awards back in the day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ender's_Game Quote
