I keep meaning to watch Senna, but every copy I've had has subtitles all the way through and I haven't found out if that's how it's supposed to be or just how the copies are that I got. I really dislike subtitles.

For anyone that wants to watch a real cult classic car movie, get a hold of 2 Lane Black Top. It's a movie that was written as it was being shot, with a rather unique ending. The story isn't great, but it's a great car movie.

It should have subtitles for the foreign dialogue. I don't recall mine having subs when they were speaking English.

2 Lane Black Top sounds interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it. Cheers.

That is a link to Two Lane Blacktop

(note that it is a link to a P2P torrent site, there is pornographic advertising there, so NSFW or with kiddies around)

As for Logans run, it looks a 'little too old'

It might have to be a RDO movie, coz i know the missus will crack the shits if she has to watch it.

There is a recent movie that has a similar story premise called 'In Time'

I havent watched that yet, but i may at some point.

Senna is good for entertainment value but I seriously disliked the light in which they portrayed him. It's great to watch as something to keep yourself entertained but it has too much bias to be a properly accurate depiction of what happened in the late 80s in F1.

... besides, Prost was better anyway :P

Yeah, Always liked Ron Howards flicks... Rush will be a must for me.

Anyone recall Midnight Express from 78-1979 ?....classic.

I love that one. I must blow the dust off it and watch it again :).

I just watched Seven Swords by Tsui Hark just love the action scene in it with Jet Li and Donnie Lau. Kill Bill two is next on my list to watch again its Asian move week for me.

I didn't watch it last night, but it's the last movies I watched.

1. The Creature 1985

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088961/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBUnh-AOIYU

Very much an 80s sci-fi and a total Alien rip-off, but for some reason I just love old sci-fi films. Even the most b-grade rubbish. I guess I'm fascinated by set design, and the limitations of special effects they could help to achieve.

2. After Earth

Rubbish, I couldn't stand it. Will Smith's son was a moping useless git.

Shame we don't have Netflix over here.

World War Z (2013) - I started reading the book in Feb and didn't get too far. Not because it wasn't good, I think I just started to read something else that grabbed my attention at the time. Anyway, I watched the movie last night and about the only think it had in common with the book is the title. Still, a very fun watch in true blockbuster style with hair raising fast and fierce zombies. 7/10

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) - As far as blockbusters go this rebooted series is fast becoming my favourite. It has the right amount of cheese coupled with good action and high quality special effects. 8/10

Fast and Furious 6...

Typical F&F movie. Over the top action scenes, thin plot, thinner happenstances, cool cars... That get destroyed. :( Bad guys die, good guys go without penalty.

That has to be one of the largest army bases ever, the runway was quite long...

For just a minute there I thought they were doing a F&F, The Mechanic crossover... I was confused for a second, but it turns out they aren't.

The general consensus seems to be that it's between 27 and 28 miles long. lol

dunno about this whole 'new style' that the latest F&F movies are going for, it seems they have lost their direction.

There is less gear changing and more storyline.

wtf????

My latest watchings (other than Breaking bad) has been;

Europa Report (2013), That was quite a good movie, Decent storyline, reasonable 'accuracy' to the scenario, nice twist at the end.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2051879/?ref_=sr_1

Mud (2012) A nice movie with Matthew McConaughey and Reese Whiterspoon, more of a drama that the missus could enjoy too.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1935179/?ref_=sr_1

The Iceman (2012) a movie about the iceman killer, Richard Kuklinski.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1491044/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Snitch (2013) starring the Rock as a dad that goes undercover with drug cartels to help his son get out of jail.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0882977/?ref_=sr_1

I have all 5 predator movies to watch just for the fun of it, and a new one called Lockout that might be half decent(or might not)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1592525/?ref_=sr_1

Hoping to get Elysium and Pacific Rim pretty soon, And im looking forwards to some of the new stuff coming soon.

Still looking for Saftey Not Garunteed, cos it looks like it'll be pretty good.

District 9 is not a sequel or companion movie to any other movie. It is based on a short movie that I will post the link to when I get home on my PC (pasting links from an iPhone is annoying).

Safety Not Guaranteed is an ok movie, pacing is slow and the story needed some more work. It seemed almost as though long pauses or the pacing was made slow just to fill out a time length requirement. There is much of the movie that could have been removed IMO and still told the same story. I'll warn you now the 280Z is in rough shape and makes me sad to see it that way. Though it wouldn't make sense to have a pristine and shiny Z due to the character that owns it.

Iron Man 3...

Did Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, Drew Pearce and Shane Black write Iron Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises in the same room at the same time, while sharing ideas?

Such a freaking let down.

--==Warning mild spoilers, sort of==--

Iron Man 3 starts off with a Tony Stark that is obviously disturbed from past events as Iron Man, goes through a period where he has to battle the bad guys directly and in a way finds himself, then uses his gadgets to fight the final battle, along with other friends then Iron Man "ceases" to be, with a final parting shot that says, well maybe that's not the end of the story...

Where as The Dark Knight Rises was in no way the same, in it there was Bruce Wayne that was disturbed from past events as Batman,  then after being beaten and learned to fight again, in a way finds himself again, after which he uses his gadgets to fight the final battle, with friends helping, and ends with Batman "ceasing" to exist, with a final parting shot of maybe that's not really the end of the story...

Oh wait...

Nope, Those 4 guys couldn't have possibly been sharing ideas, or story line...

They should have combined both movies so that I wouldn't have had to spend so much time sitting through the same movie twice...

I have to admit Iron Man 3 was pretty average, I only really liked Ben Kingsley role in it. I only watched it because I was on a long flight back to Sydney and thought it might be ok.

The first Iron man was good, the second was still ok, but the 3rd, well... it's getting a bit tired.

I agree, Iron Man was great. Iron Man 2 was good, but they seemed to go just a bot far with explosions and action scenes pushed into the story that kinda broke it up.

It seems I'm not the only one who sees the similarities between The Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3, and many more that I forgot about:

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011) - meh. Slow meandering and uninspiring. No idea why it has received a metacritic score of 60.

Up in the Air (2009) - opposite of meh. Slow meandering but pleasant. Produced during the economic downturn and used current themes very well. It's one of these movies that doesn't wow you at any moment but after you finish watching it you feel the full effect.
