George Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Oblivion (2013) Sci-Fi with a twist - and aren't they all. Seems like you can't make a Hollywood blockbuster these days without having a good twist. Even though this one is a bit predictable - again, aren't they all - it was enjoyable. I gave it a 7/10 What have you watched recently? Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 27, 2013 Moderators Posted July 27, 2013 Hmm.. is Shindler's Fist shot in black and white too? Been watching some older Arny Shwarzy films recently. Love playing back all his great one liners. Quote
dat240z Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 A good movie I saw recently, not sure if its out yet "officially" was Assault on Wall Street.... Was a sad story about a guy who gets ripped by the banker fat cats in NY, his life spirals out of control and then he snaps!!!!! Pretty cool 8/10 Quote
lightmaster240z Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 What about old one for the Harson ford fans Blade Runner Quote
George Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Loved Blade Runner. The visuals stood out and hold up very well to this CGI-day. Saw Trading Places (1983) last night. A classic comedy and it got some laughs out of me but a few cringe worthy moments as well. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted July 28, 2013 Moderators Posted July 28, 2013 Last night "Revenge of the nerds" was dragged out for airing on free TV The cast look so young - 30 years ago, then again I had a full head of hair back then :'( Quote
chris240 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Hehe, yeah watched revenge of the nerds as well....lasted 25 mins, then swapped over to the F1 Quote

dat240z Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Watched the F1 Qualies too... Will be a good start with Hamilton and Vettel going into turn 1. Does anyone think its odd how Webbers Red Bull car is always the one experiencing technical issues? KERS this time, again! Quote
Agno Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Webbo is making it pretty obvious he thinks it's all bull too. I watched embarrassing bodies and the "Most requested 80s countdown" on Max. Alcohol is bad m'kay Quote

Agno Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 The Watchmen. Soundtrack was awesome but I should have watched Man on Fire instead. Quote
George Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Last night I watched Playing For Keeps (2012). What a waste. Tonight I watched Planet Ocean (2012). It's a documentary and going in I thought it would be a pretty look at ocean life. Boy was I wrong. It ended up preaching about the environment but in a sensible way I thought. All I can say after watching this is human greed knows no bounds and we really need to wake up to ourselves. Grab it if you can and watch it with the family. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Have you watched The Intouchables. You may suprise yourself. By the way it in French with sub titles Quote
George Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Heard of it but have not seen it. Bookmarked it. Thanks Quote
