I have fitted air horns to the 240Z roundtops SU's. The air horns are from the ZCar Store. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic17a03 I wanted to use a 240Z air cleaner with the SU's on my L28, The standard 240Z air cleaner can be fitted with K&N filters with a little bit of modification. 1. Remove the pressed metal air horns from the base.I drilled out the spot welds, removed the air horns and then ground back the small flange. 2. Make a small frame like that shown to take shorter filter box screws. 10 mm strip steel. The bolt holes are M8. 3. Fit either the standard width 240Z K&N filter or 2 x 260Z K&N narrower filters. If you use the 240Z standard width filter which means the filter cover will seat normally, you will have to modify the bolt guides under air cleaner top as they will foul the air horn. I chose the two x 260Z filters as this gives more room between the filter cover and the air horn and more filter surface area. The pressed metal Nissan filters will not fit over the air horns.

Yes. Thanks. The wire sleeve and the two grommets are the same as what I am after. I will try an alternative Japanese parts importer to see if other makes and models use the same grommets and wire sleeves before I try and order overseas. Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the plastic cover that contains the headlight wiring? It is the black plastic sheath that the wiring is placed in. Mine is brittle and cracked. I am also chasing the grommets that go in the rear of the headlight shell and where the wiring passes through the inner guard.

Can you not count the revolutions of input and output shafts in the various gears instead of having to dismantle it? Put a cardboard disc on both shafts with a mark, Put it in the gear you want to check, Turn the input shaft 10 full revolutions and count the output revolutions?

I hope you have better luck than I did in getting to view the cars. They were on eBay recently advertised by a friend of the seller. He responded to my eBay message and gave me the seller's phone number. The seller would not return calls. I tried several times and live very close. Cashmere in Brisbane. I'm using this product and am very happy with it. Started with clear and used it inside the doors. I ended up wasting about half a tin as the lid was glued on so strongly when I went to use it again,that I had to destroy the tin to get at it. So when I mentioned this to the guy at the panel shop he gave me a great tip. Put a double layer of Glad Wrap on the tin before you put the lid back on. I've also bought the smallest containers of POR15 I can buy, 100 mls as these get opened and used quickly. Works a treat and can be used on other products as well.
