  1. If the engine change is sympathetic, makes good power and is well done then it can add value which, of course, does not mean there is money to be made by doing that, far from it. A rotary would not fit into the sympathetic category though, it would be very hard to sell and that in effect will devalue it compared with say a RB30ET.
  2. Rang that wrecker at Lobb Street, he has nothing. Can always give Paul at Walloon a go if I get really stuck.
  3. Mentioning any potential problem is good, it's always up to the owner to decide which way he wants to go so the more info he has the better able he is to make an informed decision.
  4. This is just a thought but given the discretion involved in approving mods it might be worth while just to list 'power steering' along with all the other mods, then leave it up to the approving engineer as to what he may or may not require. Leave sleeping dogs lie is applicable here, my experience is that if the mod work and the car look to be well done then it can be just a matter of ticking the boxes.
  5. Thanks Jason. Talkin' about my generation? A1 of course, the best
  6. What's the name of the Ipswich wrecker Jason, sounds like he should have one. Lol at silver platter, just finished making a mini 'pallet' for a gearbox I've sold to a bloke in SA
  7. Still wanted, don't particularly want to spend a day driving around looking for one.
  8. That's a good idea Chris and will probably be done I guess. Brain aneurism I heard was the cause, can happen to anyone but what a shame, he did so much for the community. RIP Bill
  9. Yes, RIP, in a Zed.
  10. And you have a special wet tyre warm up procedure don't you Richard Sorry, couldn't help myself
  11. A Zed in the UK eh, wonder what his chances are of getting a rust free one
  12. Put this up because I thought it would appeal to any enthusiast who gets a buzz when car and driver come together to do something special. Glad that some were able to see it that way
  13. Look on the bright side, now is the opportunity to rebuild it stronger than stock
  14. Penrite would be my choice.
  15. This gave me shivers, not much does that. Interesting points, compared with a V8SC it picks up ~2 seconds across the top but loses in outright speed, max on the video 280kph.
  16. Here you go, made me shiver.
  17. Oh noes, have all the 280ZX autos gone to that great dump in the sky already
  18. The way things have worked out for me no way will the Z be ready for this but I do intend to visit and give free advice to anyone who will listen Seriously, be there.
  19. Nifty Nev drives that white Falcon engined 260Z which does killer lap times, he's located at Kallangur, PM me for his phone number. Damm, why didn't I go to this? Could have driven the daily there, no Zed is no excuse
  20. Yep, you read that right I'm at NW Brisbane, don't want to drive too far for a brake pedal. Posted might work, PM best.
  21. Isn't it really up to the seller to use his/her judgment and take reasonable precautions? If you don't know how to do that then learn now, it's important and useful throughout your whole life. An important advantage of the classified ads here is that they are open to the widest possible audience surely, restricting that advantage in any way is going way too far in my opinion.
  22. Nationals aren't about money, they are about the Zed community getting together and having Zed fun and having an adventure holiday too. I went to the last one at Phillip Island from Brisbane which is significantly further than from, say, Warwick to Melbourne no problem. Actually Warwick is very accessible from south as it's right on the Cunningham Highway, plus there are no PITA big city traffic congestion and navigation issues. The Z Car Club has already booked reasonably priced accommodation for NDN15 visitors, it's all laid on ready to go. Actually I feel sorry for anyone who can't understand what NDN's are all about, they are missing out on an experience any true enthusiast would appreciate
  23. Surely it's a good thing that blokes are developing their Z cars to go faster, certainly makes them more fun and challenging to drive for a start. Anyway, if Zeds are wanted to fill up a field they will just have to take what's available and let's keep in mind that the blokes who have put their hand up here have no recent QR experience at all, which is certainly a handicap.
