  1. Interesting footage from Robert Gooley in his Evo on the H circuit showing that he hits the same speed around the back as on the front straight, about 210 which is around the speed that the Kink at Lakeside is taken by similar cars. Robert is pretty quick around Lakeside, his speeds would be understandably higher in an Evo than what a Zed could be expected to reach too. So, looking at those facts, it's rubbish to say that the H circuit is too fast or whatever the safety problem is supposed to be. The other thing of course is that there would be much less local knowledge of the H so making it fairer for those who are not MP regulars. Anyway, here's Robert's vid
  2. Thinking of subscribing to this simulator series, should be fun plus useful as a familiarisation tool for any tracks before actually running the Zed there. Corvette might be the go for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pY5PeAVinc
  3. Just looking at all that makes me feel tired, A+ for dedication
  4. Yes, we have discussed this situation before. Obviously the full list of factory option parts would not be allowed, can't have the euro's getting thrashed by a rice burner now can we old chap. Still, the body in control of making and administering the rules has to act fairly and consistently, that is a legal requirement which they cannot avoid.
  5. The problem concerning the spec of group Sc S30's seems more related to what the governing body here has allowed, in particular allowing so called dealer options. It would have been more clear cut and perhaps fair to allow only factory specs as delivered to the dealers. Depending on what a particular dealer offered as extras is a pretty chancy way of defining what is allowed, to say the least. All done and dusted now though I would think, unless someone wants to fund a legal challenge of some sort.
  6. The silence is deafening, secret squirrel applies to members of the ZCCQ Inc who are not in the cool kids loop, apparently.
  7. Is he going to race it?
  8. Thanks for the rundown Matt, sounds challenging without the scary 'speed kills' factor, very PC. Should make everyone happy.
  9. Errrr, p3 top post has a link to MP circuit diagrams Jason.
  10. Anyone run the G circuit at MP? It looks kind of interesting, I guess that there would be no familiarity advantage for the MP regulars and it would be good for spectators. In other words a reasonable NDN choice. And Jason, you gave the game away as to who your NDN informant was in your first excited post
  11. Will have to organise a Auszcar sprints day at EC or PI next year some time, once my situation settles down.
  12. No reason not to try EC, but turn one with a 3.7 diff would see the Z doing ~250kph in fifth at 6500rpm. Which, from what I've heard, may be faintly suicidal for me
  13. It's a bit of a myth that blokes with racing licences are always more sensible and competent than those with a L2S, there are dud drivers and dud cars everywhere. Anyway, yeh, I'm one of those who just wants to experience Bathurst at speed, my ego is good for that, not necessary to beat every/any one.
  14. Yeh, I aint getting any younger, may still be compus mentis by 2016 for that proposed Bathurst L2S event though The bloke who won that London to China rally is in his 80's and apparently is backing up again so there is still hope for us 'more experienced' types.
  15. That will have to do I guess, should be fun and no minimum time restrictions though.
  16. That's disappointing, wonder if there will be a regularity at Bathurst some other time during 2015. Guess I'll have to look for a sprint on over Easter 2015 then, something using a decent speed friendly circuit. A track like Lakeside, Phillip Island, MP H circuit......Any suggestions?
  17. Anyone know anything about the NSWRRC not organising any more Bathurst regularity's? Someone who should know told me but I've heard nothing official yet, they said there would be a race instead for which road registered cars would not be eligible for of course. Tell me it aint true
  18. The thing is that all the Zeds can run around together in the one group and race each other, err, wave and smile at each other From what I've heard it will be a sell out, lots looking forward to it. Spewin that I won't be able to participate
  19. But Jason I love CAMS, have one of their licences and several scrute stickers on the Z. C'mon, spill the beans, who passed on the secret squirrel NDN15 info and what is it. In confidence of course
  20. What's happened to Jason? It's unheard of for him to be silent when there is gossip/rumours/chat to be revealed, come back mate, we need you
  21. My bolden. Hmmmm, there is no way that non club members would be told which circuits have been decided on before club members are so advised. Keep to the facts Jason my lad.
  22. Don't get me started on why I missed Bathurst this year :'( Anyway, there is plenty of time to decide which circuits are going to be used and I'm sure that everything relevant will be taken into account when making that decision. It's not a time for personal preferences/lap times to be used to decide the choice as everyone involved would know and appreciate.
  23. Hello Z Car Club Q spokesperson Jason I did suggest one of the circuits, there is no reason why one circuit can't be chosen to suit the newbs and the other for the more experienced. Let's not forget that we are hoping to attract drivers who are used to fast circuits like Phillip Island and Eastern Creek which I'm sure that the organisers will take into account when making the decision. 'H' is brilliant for those spectators who take a walk down to the back part of it, it's by far the most exciting part for spectators to watch at Morgan Park.
  24. Steering wheel sold, I was a bit slow in updating, sorry.
