  1. Probably about time for a reminder of the suggestion to include the 'H' for Hell circuit at Morgan Park as one to be used for sprints. Anyone who can go down hill from the top near the bridge down to the bottom of the new part of the circuit in a powerful car flat out without lifting should get a special medal See the circuit map here http://www.morganparkraceway.com.au/circuit.htm The part I'm talking about is from the right turn clockwise just past the bridge near the top left of the map down into the bottom (middle) of the red part. All downhill Through curves I'm sure that our visitors would enjoy it
  2. This unwanted interior will be going to the dump soon
  3. All organised blokes? Great to see the Z helpfulness from Jason and Richard Graham aka zed74. Can someone let me know (phone 3354 3204) when the pickup is going to happen because I have to go out sometime this am.
  4. Sounds like a plan, I'll cooperate.
  5. Get Jason to pick it up, ten minutes away.
  6. It's yours for free Gav if you can arrange a pick up. My donation to this site.
  7. OP list updated, note that the steering wheel is a good one, 'wooden' rim is in great condition.
  8. While I think of it there is a Z enthusiast and race car builder in Perth who posts on a forum I frequent, he seems like he knows his stuff.
  9. That's a rubbish gasket too, it's not perfectly round to match the bore. I'm not up with what's available for L engines but that one deserves a serious head gasket for a start. Engine builder deserves a serve for sure.
  10. What's needed is Mr Wonderful to run a club and show everyone how good he is and show how it should be done? It won't happen though because it involves unpaid work. Just checking Jason, will you be charging admission?
  11. Pictures of the dash and the centre console, I hope. The top of the dash which can't be seen has six cracks. The centre console is not cracked but the two back attachment holes are larger than standard. Screw heads have pulled through?
  12. Thanks for the enquiries blokes, as already indicated preference will be given to those who pick up. They also get the chance to have a look and be satisfied with their buys.

  14. Engine swap specialist, not only does he do all intake and exhaust pipework and general fabrication like engine mounts in house but basic auto electrics and ECU loom work up to the stage of getting the engine running on it's original or aftermarket ECU. He did the LS swap for me at a fair price including making up an in cabin clutch master cylinder setup, I know of no one else in Q who could do all that he did. At the moment he has a VH41 engine which he can turbo and fit into a Zed Contact Al at AM auto, 07 5455 5269 or email sales@amauto.com.au
  15. While I think of it, someone on another forum quoted a LS1 as weighing 195kg and a VG30DETT as 285kg, 90kg difference The LS3 would weigh about the same as a LS1 while the original VG30DET would be about the same as a VG30DETT, maybe a touch lighter. If those figures are correct then this is going to be a very interesting car to drive in anger Unfortunately the car now has to go into storage for a while but it will be back.
  16. PB260Z has pretty well covered everything. Just note that the braked towing capacity is to do with the vehicle's capability and may have nothing to do with it's performance when towing. If buying a towing vehicle, as well as looking at it's official towing capacity, look at the engine's power which of course indicates how easily it will tow, something very relevant to driver comfort and sometimes fuel economy. As us Z drivers appreciate, you can't have too much power PS for towing I prefer a auto turbo diesel.
  17. That paint shrunk your Zed! Acrylic is a good DIY choice I reckon, easy to touch up too.
  18. How heavy is your trailer? My Tilta tandem is listed at 500kg which enables a wide range of tow car options.
  19. You have a six speed? Mine is a short fifth gear TKO five speed, assuming 250kph at PI and Bathurst a 3.7 would be kinder to the engine than the present 3.9. The car's lap time limitation will be me, not something to do with the car Weight. I have a Tilta trailer and now have to get more weight forward so it goes down and puts some weight on the tow bar which indicates less front weight as the rear would be pretty much the same. But the total is probably not down to 1000kg although the f'glass doors have saved a heap too.
  20. Ken Graham measured the corner weightings a few years ago but there was no real scope to move weight around to even it all up, plus I don't agree with adjusting individual coil heights to even things up. So corner weights are only of academic interest to me.
  21. But Jason you said "Morgan Park has weight scales, do it by half, then whole, then other half" So what is the point in weighing half if it's not accurate weighing a half. You wouldn't be giving me false info would you?
  22. Decided to get a cam before the dyno tune, it's going to be a while yet before it's a track goer but something like 400+ horses at the wheels and V8 torque should make the wait worth while. Plan to change the diff from a 3.9 to a 3.7 too.
  23. Of course Jason, as I said, the ~1000kg was The Pro's guesstimate. It is what it is, I am surprised how much lighter it appears to be though which is a point that may be of interest to others.
  24. Baby is home and happily garaged, needs more stuff done though including a dyno tune. Weight. Pro reckons it's about 1000kg with the alloy V8, it's certainly lighter, sitting about an inch higher on 450 lb springs at the front and hardly heavy enough at the front to tip the trailer down when it's loaded. It will have to be moved forwards to get a decent balance. Zed's weight distribution has to be 50/50 now or more at the rear. New camera = pic problem.
  25. Pick the Zed up tomorrow if the weather is kind. Getting excited, apparently it sounds "tuff" so that is the most important thing
