Hard to find much at all online, bits and pieces of the US stuff which is certainly worth looking at due to their relatively level playing fields and the successes against the euros. Had a bit of a look for DVD's with no success, even thought about creating a website but that's probably beyond my knowledge base. What to do............
I'm sure that Jason could sneak one into Group Sc
Seriously, there are really no other race classes in AU that a S30 can meaningfully compete in anyway but it might be possible to use one as a basis for a Sports Sedan, Z32 has been used before.
That body sounds like a great thing, just one point in it's favour is the use of structural foam sandwich construction which is way stronger and stiffer than a mere piece of sheet body steel. That's in addition to their use of structural steel reinforcements, if it has been designed and made properly it should be a winner and a great basis for a race car.
The motorsport contribution seems to come mainly from Queensland, perhaps that's because we seem to have more who compete and who recognise how good the Zeds can be.
For the Pommylanders it probably has more to do with their own rusting out years ago plus a renewed interest in the S30. Hopefully some of that interest will translate into renewed motorsport involvement and not just be a transient fanboi thing.
On some car sale site I looked at the other day there were only +2's for sale but their prices were up there where two seaters used to be not so long ago.
There was a bloke out that way who owned several Zeds but I've not heard of him for several years now. Good luck with your search but at a rough guess that was then, this is now.
The S30 is still incredibly under valued here as a world class performance car, I'm afraid that most Australians value a car based on what they paid for it rather than any real evaluation of the physical car itself. That and the enduring fallacy that somehow euro cars are better and that only those who can't afford one settle for second best, a Japanese car.
I'm afraid that as far as your average 'car enthusiast' here goes most of them are 90% image influenced and just follow the mob
So Group A aka Group Datsun is on this weekend, minus 2 degrees this morning at Warwick but it's all good, should be nice and fine with warm days for the weekend.
Yeh it was muddy where you were Mike, someone told me you had an off and that's why your tyres were muddy So how's the Sc coming along, you realise that the hopes of the Q S30 community are riding on your shoulders to pip Adler. Or else do a Jason on him
