Sunday was a great day and the trophy award dinner was packed and of course some had to miss it to head for home early, chock a block at $70 a head which included a drinks allowance. Everyone seemed genuinely rapt in the event and pleased that they had participated, certainly the best Q NDN I've been to even if it was spectating only for me. Lots of track practice yesterday but its rained overnight and is till damp and heavily over cast. Have a feeling though that it will start to fine up soon. Some great cars present, as well as S30's there are quite a few other ND models including 510's and tir3ds V8 280ZX. Plenty of people taking pics so hopefully someone will post some here.

With this sort of auto there can be no downshift throttle blip because there is no 'gap' between shifts, later type autos can have a programmable 'gap' which means that a blip can be made between shifts. But there are more ways to skin a cat which is what this PCS stuff is all about, providing programmable options.

Update. There is a lot about to happen, for the LS3 there is a Crane cam, valve springs and trunnion kit to be fitted which will bring the engine power up to a engine dyno tested 520hp with a performance improvement throughout the rev range over stock. More exciting/crazy is that the Zed is going to be fitted with a GM 4L80E auto together with a Powertrain Control Solutions valve body and 2000 controller. The whole idea is to have an auto that is circuit compatible, particularly concerning engine braking and smooth downshifting. The options that will be available are almost endless eg the torque converter will have a built in clutch that when engaged in effect can change an auto to a manual fully or partially in that the engagement/disengagement points will be entirely programmable. The effect of this might be, for example, that the TC clutch could be dis/engaged during shifts to act as a cushion or help create a seamless shift. This is one of those subjects where pics don't tell much but when the PCS stuff arrives in the next few weeks pics may be sort of appropriate.

Friday am weather report. A bit of light rain overnight, heavily overcast but fine at present, cool, virtually no breeze. If it gets no worse than this then all will be good. There is a lot of overhead cover at MP if it does rain anyway.

Other than F1 I'd prefer to see mixed sports car racing, current to historic. Porsche Cup, Aussie cars and so on? Nah. But no sponsorship means no air time for the sporties

From what I can tell from here, Warwick, it might be best to avoid the coastal route from south. There has been some intermittent light rain here, otherwise the weather is great at present.

Be great to see a LSX engined 280ZX stirring the 240's, unfortunately mine is still US, I'm Richard The Elder and will be all over your car looking for ideas and available to lend a hand if there are any problems. I live in Warwick now so MP is my home track
