A bit confused on how a VIC plate of a style that has only been on issue since mid 2013 (and I would guess from the number this one was issued mid to late 2014) could be reported stolen in NSW in 2006.
Come on Scoota, forgive and forget. Hanging rock is either dry and hot or p155ing down and cold. You've tried the latter, but it is forcast to be the former this weekend. They always (except when scoota was there) have some very interesting cars there. Beautiful part of the world.
DeCoy,
I think this is an urban myth. This myth has been based on a lack of dust shields, but as Z states, there are quite a few OEM calipers in our everyday road cars that have no dust shields.

Give Morrabbin Spares a call. A member on here and details are in the business directory of the forum. I've always had excellent service from him.

Gill, you're right but that's not the plate that causes concern. It is the compliance plate - the one that lists the ADRs that are applicable to the vehicle and shows that it has been properly imported and complied. Without one of those it can be treated like a grey import. It is my understanding that in these circumstances it it is regarded as a new car being imported and would need to comply with the ADRs of today - not 1970. It would be cost prohibitive to get a Zed to comply with 2014 ADRs. Previously being registered in AUS would be a massive help.
I'm not an expert, but this is my opinion of what would happen.
Mick,
this car was never lime. It was silver. I hate silver so I'm still working out its future colour, but lime is in the top 3 (Lime, Red or Fantale Orange (the VF orange))
So here she is ready for a road trip:
And arriving safe and sound (ish)
My wife has told me that I can go ..... yipee.
She also pointed out that it's Valentine's Day, so Lurch - you and me for a romantic dinner
When will we know the likely costs? (for the trip - not for romantic dinner)
