  1. I'm sure these plenty of us who'd love to see the journal Mike! I only did a short refresh on my car but it still got the better of me a few times. I'd definitely say with any build schedule in some regular car free time, get away from it and refresh the body/mind. You'll come back with more enthusiasm too.
  2. Yep S30, 100mm or 10cm's following the front curved side of the black mirror stalks. The difference is really easy to see when you look at the back side of the stalk, the chrome bluebird stalks are really stumpy as seen in the pic above.
  3. The difference is very easy to see. Chrome are 510/bluebird, black are S30.
  4. It already sold to me quite a while ago The twin pickups are supposed to help limit fuel starvation in corners when racing. It's an issue when the tank gets to 1/4 full or below.
  5. Yes. Measuring the front side of my spare ones they are 10cm's, You have the S30 type.
  6. Very nice, they even look comfy!
  7. I bought that tank a fair while ago Gav, it's got twin pickups instead of the single factory one. Maybe try contacting them on the team legacy facebook page, I don't think Matt is on here very often.
  8. There was one for sale in the NDSOC magazine for $50, no horn pad and in rough restorable condition.
  9. I thought Z's rusted from the inside out, Let's hope not! Hehe Seriously though, more power to you George. Another early car on the path to salvation!
  10. Saw this on classiczcars, thought you guys might be interested. My lens is a little shabby and the LED globe is a great idea. I've registered my interest to order one http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/51392-9-smd-led-too-long-engine-bay-light-lens.html
  11. You must over the moon Adam, well done. Just in time for the long weekend, hopefully the weather is good enough for a long cruise!
  12. If I manage to get the carbs retuned for the new cam, I'd like to come along too
  13. Agreed, I got mine cheap so it worked out for me. If your looking for an LSD now It has to be a Subaru torsen or clutch. Even with beta shafts it's still cheaper. With the extra weight I can't see why people go with an R200.
  14. Looking great as expected gents, oh the noise! I have heard of people having to shave the mudflaps slightly to get a perfect fit. Nice work on the headlight covers, that will help with aero. I've run the R888's and found bridgestone's to be strangely cheaper in Melbourne and much better in the dry. The Toyo R888's are epic in the wet! Unforunately I didn't find them nearly as good in the dry. Everyone is raving about the new Yokohama AO50's, they are very sticky but as usual for Yoki's don't live quite as long. It's the trade off I guess.
  15. That's the type I run, it's an excellent diff centre. They were made by Modena Engineering.
  16. All hardware on both 510 and S30 mirrors is interchangeable. So if you want you can fit new bluebird mirror tops to the S30 stalks, that's what I did.
  17. They are the correct S30z long stalk mirrors. Good price The chrome ones are for bluebird 510. On used sets I've always found the rubber mirror surround/seal(around the glass) is perished, I'm not sure how you replace them or if you can. I bet there is an easy fix though.
  18. My 11/73 also has intermittent setting, pretty luxurious ey!
  19. You work fast, it's looking nice and straight. White Z's always look the best
  20. I can't remember the specific prices anymore, I do remember the double syncros were cheaper than the singles which seems odd.
  21. I got all my syncro and bearings through stewart Wilkins, he was very helpful with working out what specific kit I needed. I had an RB20det box which had double syncro on 2nd & 3rd. These are an inner and outer brass syncro with the steel cone floating in between the two. you can't see the inner syncro until you have separated the gear set. He got me to measure the gap to confirm the syncro type required. see pic
  22. At least there was two people there with good taste How are you finding the new seats?
  23. I had the same issue with the offset rca, all I did was shave the back edge off the air dam. I only needed about 10mm
  24. Sounds a bit crap regarding the P90, that's at least a few hundred dollars your now missing through no fault of yours. You could try boiling some vinegar in a kettle a pouring a little in each cylinder through the plug holes. The acidic properties might free it up by dissolving the rust. If that doesnt work I'd back off the crank bolt before you pull it out, sounds like its going to be pretty tight. I can turn my motor over by hand, but that's with two hands turning on the 10" harmonic balancer.
  25. If it's a bar with straight sides it'll be a rear mounted bar, common on the Arizona Z car stuff
