In my current situation as has been the case for a long time I am unable to attend these meetings, perhaps this will change in the future, although this is looking less likely. We all pay the same membership fee and should be offered the same opportunities regardless of status within the club.

Not sure I didn't try it. I had no idea how to measure it properly. What should happen if you've set it up correctly? Any suggestions for a backyard DIY way of measuring? I did try those 250lb springs, no good though. The car was about 10" of the ground with positive camber! Lol. Back in with the 220's.

Allan, I saw 'Option 2' springs and sway bars have been picked for the car. Do you know how the different 'sports options' compare in spring rates and sway bar sizes. Did they specify weather it was a road race, rally, wet style of setup?

Yeah I can see that now via the link. The first post I can't see any pic, there's just a tiny empty black square :-\ The long one is weird, haven't seen one like that before. What thread was it from? Isn't the FJ rear case the same as an L series 5spd? If so just use the standard housing, punch out the roll pin, switch colored cogs, refit roll pin, insert in case and rotate until cog engages the plastic drive gear, you'll feel it and be able to see it like Jason says. With the red cog (4.1) it should rotate about 180degrees from original position. Make note of where the locking tab should fit, machine a small groove (I used a 4"grinder with thin cutting blade). Refit with a new 'O' ring and a small amount of wheel bearing grease on the 'O' ring

IIRC the gear diameter increases with the different colors. The centre of the housing is slightly offset, I fitted the new cog in the original housing and machined a new retaining slot about 180deg from the original position and that seemed to work. I was using the red gear for a 4.1 What does the new housing look like Jake?

Is this a street or track car? I imagine if it's able to rev to 9k there's going to be big driveability issues below 4-5k. Will the gearbox and clutch handle 9k shifts?

Hi Alan, some really interesting info here. Regarding your pictures, can you tell me the purpose of the kangaroo washer bag, the canister in front of the battery and also the clear poly tube looping upwards on the firewall behind the engine? I can't see any chassis plates either. It appears similar to a moderately modified engine bay, but I guess the devil is in the detail. I'm sure I could look at this for hours and miss most of the important parts. Thanks, Gareth.

That interior is all business! How did you mount the vents in the bonnet? Also, I'd like to hear your feedback on the yokies after you've thrashed it.

I got my new door cards from brighton Nissan in 2011, supposedly the last set at the warehouse in japan. Not sure if that's true though and I am never that lucky! The new ones aren't a 100% match for the originals I had, the texture is slightly different. Gav's thoughts sound correct regarding new batches. Although I've tried to get many parts through several local Nissan dealers in the last few years only to be told NLA and "they are no longer producing these parts and lost the remaining NOS because of the tsunami"
