  1. A monte rally replica would be awesome Are they 2" british SU's? Perhaps a re tune will get them running properly again. With the exhaust you could try a longer dump pipe. The hatch height looks similar to mine after fitting the rare spares hatch seal, unfortunately they don't fit properly making the hatch sit up a few mm.
  2. Sounds sweet, what sort of system do you run?
  3. Does anyone have some 57.5 pilot jets no longer required that they would sell? Only four needed. Cheers, Gareth.
  4. I'll keep a close eye on the areas and see if anything changes. It's not like I get it far from the garage atm anyway
  5. Thanks Jason
  6. Thanks Peter, It's always nice to have some pictures for the simpletons(me) amongst us
  7. Saw those ones but I can't understand how a bit of right angle welded to the underside of the rails would stop the inner fender from cracking away from the top of the chassis rail? Is the issue that the stock rail flexes at the sway bar mounts? Quote from ZCC "When using a larger front sway bar, it’s likely you can see cracks between the inner fender and frame rail. This is from the additional stress put on the frame rails. To correct this problem, weld in our brace plates, and reinforce that area" I measured the old bar and it was only 22m Vs. new bar at 24mm, no signs of any cracks or stress yet with the standard rails. I guess I'm wondering if it's worthwhile or not. Perhaps It's more for the huge bars like 28mm? + post too, I'll be making my own if I go with this setup.
  8. Nice work guys, must be pretty nerve racking when you have concrete walls on either side!
  9. I have just fitted a 24mm front sway bar, should I be bracing the front chassis rails under the captive nuts? Edit: I've read with the larger bars there is a risk of tearing the captive nuts and some sheet metal from the underside of the chassis rail, 24mm isn't huge but I thinks it's getting on the bigger end of the scale. Cheers, Gareth.
  10. Is that a Cyclops engine immobiliser? Glad to hear it's all going well again.
  11. Ooooh sounds promising, what are the plans for the engine?
  12. If you've had recent starting issues are the plugs now fouled or wet? Try cleaning with a wire brush and re gapping them. My old triple dellortos started first or second go with no chokes and three pumps of the pedal.
  13. I got these billet ones for my 73. I believe they are called 'dove tails'. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-Billet-70-76-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-door-alignment-dove-tails-dovetails-/251278833552?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a8162b790
  14. Yay, more build threads I can't get enough of all the different stories people have about their Z's. You can never have enough photo's, If I have one regret it's not taking enough pics in the early years of ownership. Hehehe, Wild Bills! Some good memories, some not so good! 15. What would freight be on 50kg's? Assuming two cranks + packaging
  16. WOW, Looks fantastic Potter!
  17. My dash was done by dashboard doc many years before I purchased the car. Still looks almost brand new and I've had the car 11+yrs
  18. I'd be keen for the crank too
  19. Thanks for uploading Tai. Nice segment Dimitri, well done!
  20. The blue trumpets were the give away Bugger, I only turned it on when James Moffat was talking about the 370Z. Apparently they put old episodes up on youtube so I'll check it out there.
  21. Should be good, the stories are quite interesting and the footage is great!
  22. Just watched this new T.V. show today. On the closing credits I saw Dimitri's Z and sure enough it feature in the series according to this teaser for series one. Can you share anymore info Dimitri and do you know when the episode with your car is on?
  23. Isn't that on the wrong side for the choke? My choke goes through that spot on the passenger side of the trans tunnel.
  24. We have a hand held wide band air fuel logger. I used that when setting up the FCR's on my car, I ended up with ratio's in the 12.5-13.5:1 region and 11ish when the accel pumps kick in. Will probably try for around low 13's to begin with, it's a neat little road car that won't go above 6,000rpm. Thanks again
