  1. I've fitted an upgraded shifter spring kit to the RB box, It stiffens up the shifter feel as the old ones looked to be original and were a little soft especially when shifting to the left side of the box. Easy job that takes about five minutes. I went with the kit available GK tech as it's well priced at $23. White is definitely the best color, you've done very well. Lol Ha, My missus says exactly the same thing when I'm online too Vorn.
  2. It was just a personal comment on a for sale listing, Tame reply in my book. I saw this car at the nationals, super impressive up close. I'm with Alan, If it does happen Adam & Jim we want video.
  3. God, I sold mine cheap
  4. My L28 crank scraper came with no instructions, I'm with Rich & Kato, If I pay good money I want something that fits with minimal effort. If not, I won't buy it. You and Rich need to sit down and watch a Matlock marathon until this tit for tat crap is sorted There's far too many topics getting polluted with this tripe Everyone values both your input greatly, I have gotten a huge information from you and your posts. We are all on the the same team aren't we
  5. Nice family lineage there Look forward to the progress and plenty more pics/vids!
  6. That's great news, congrats on the purchase, more pics please Can you share more details about the import process, rough costs besides the price of the car. "Rust Free" should be thought of as no visible rust, it's a 40+yr old car, with no factory rust protection. The only ones that are rust free have full restoration/pics of the body un-picked, then repaired, rust proofed, THEN restored. Hence the big $ for fully restored cars Thanks, Gareth.
  7. I think it wouldn't need any mods, being on opposite sides of the column everything is reversed as a result. Datsun seemed to be masters of recycling.
  8. +1, Nice Dale
  9. Might be a silly question but wouldn't they work the same..... LHD turn left would be down, then RHD left is up. So, if you loosen you RHD turn signal and rotate it anti clockwise to the LHD side it would work, wouldn't it?
  10. Lol. Maybe some of Webers mechanics switched to Vettels garage
  11. Some nice rides there! That silver G nose is waaaay too low, it has to be riding on the bump stops, still
  12. I think Len was channelling John Morton
  13. Love it! Is it just me or do cross flow engines always look better
  14. Haha, was that 'diggity' or 'giggity' at the end of the video sounds pretty shweet, what's exhaust the system? Your neighbours must love you!
  15. Bugger. You gotta be quick round here!
  16. Do Whiteline still produce these?
  17. Really, a new compliance plate. Seems like a lot more effort than they normally put in Lol. When I had my engine changed all I had to do was go there to get it visually checked. L24, 26,28 it didn't matter. They made a record of the new engine number and I was driving out 2mins later. Definately a good topic for a sticky
  18. Shweet looking Z, I like the interior. What's with the seat belt reel location
  19. Good news, we have found a new 1600! After endless searching and an overnight trip to Sydney We heard through a friend of friend of a friend that there may be a car in a barn 5km's down the road. Long story short, it was a project started and stalled about 10yrs ago. It's been rubbed back to bare metal in most places of the body shell and has surface rust but only one small hole on the top of the right rear guard. Came with new door seals and 4ltrs of 70-74 Datsun orange? It took half a day to get it out, then find most of the parts and hang panels on. Let the fun begin!
  20. Here's a pic of a 240z ID plate, obviously yours is for a 260Z so will be slightly different, L26....... etc. I thought it would be best to grey out the engine and chassis numbers. The dimensions of the plate are 100mm long and 70mm high. These guys should be able to supply a replica for you with the measurements above and the image. http://www.vin-plate.co.uk/
  21. There's a few shops in japan that do reproduction tags, revive jalopy & soul-rubber.net, I believe. I'm not sure if they do 'English' versions though. There is also a place in the UK I know that do them to your requirements. I'll get the info later tonight. As long as the engine is still an L series all they need to do is a visual on the car/engine and confirm the number matches what you have told them.
  22. Was the car unregistered when purchased, did you get the previous owner to sign and print details on a sale receipt for proof of ownership when the time comes to register? This 'receipt' can be hand written, it needs chassis no, engine no, date of sale, sale amount and also the names and signatures of both seller/buyer.
