  1. Found this today. Posted here: https://www.carthrottle.com/post/w8g2xv3/
  2. Go easy on the keyword stuffing fellas or we might get "Google Slapped". Meta tags are a wonderful thing aren't they?

    Wtb: 240 Or 260

It's a classified website aimed at the advertisement of competition based cars. http://www.my105.com/ I don't know why it's called my105 or what the 105 signifies...
  4. Is it still Blue today? Is it your car?
  5. Hi mate, My 72 240z lives at my parents house in Melbourne, so I'm not driving it from Sydney -> Melbourne. God help me if I did that with how loud it is and the amount of Z-fumes I get lol... I did it once from Melbourne -> Goulburn and it broke me haha. I'll be heading down in my Suzuki Jimny with a 40kg Labrador in the back seat farting all the way... It's as fun as it sounds. > But I'll be heading down in advance of the BBQ so a convoy wouldn't make sense. Perhaps some day I will drive #150 from Sydney -> Melbourne for the BBQ that will be a moment. Cheers, Gavin
  6. So much awesome, wish I was building a motor like this. But my budget is constrained for the moment.

    Engine Noise

Ok I didn't think it was possible to upload video to the forum, but you obviously have. I don't know if we have enough space for frequent video uploads and certainly bandwidth could be an issue. Hence why I said Youtube was probably a better option. Here it is for everyone else. It sounds like some kind of valve train issue. I agree it could be a bent valve, sounds like a leaky chamber. Compression test would reveal for sure...

    Engine Noise

Are you trying to upload the video to this server or to Youtube? You should probably try Youtube and then link to it from here.
  9. haha, I did the same thing recently...
  10. I hope you are making the right choice.

    Engine Noise

If you have the capability a video of said noise would probably be far more helpful.
  12. Craig at wazcars has been busy updating his registry. http://www.wazregister.com/index.php?title=View_ANZIS30_Register Quite a few more chassis numbers on there now and I managed to get photos of HS30 00060. What is becoming clear to me is that the early cars seem to have been painted all sorts of colours, unlike say HS30 00149, HS30 00150 and HS30 00151 which were all painted the same shade 920 Gold. Earlier cars seem to change colours for each car produced. Perhaps giving more weight to the idea that they were demo cars and therefore were painted a spectrum of colours? Before Nissan switched to a more linear way of painting cars. By the way 1 thing I've always wondered is if there is a way to dig out eBay auctions from their archives. http://ebay.about.com/od/frequentlyaskedquestion1/f/faq_archived.htm The link above suggests it's only possible for 3 months then you have to manually request information. We often have item IDs but I can no longer view the old auction, this would be incredibly useful if we could get access to old listings. Anyone had experience requesting this information from eBay?
  13. #241 or #251? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13773-early-girl-bingo-with-photos/
  14. Don't insert it as a link, just copy paste the full URL as regular text and the forum software should be able to run it's filter through it and embed it for you. I've edited it for you to fix it this time.
  15. Photos of HS30 00036 have been added to the homepage. It was 907 Green in colour. It was last seen / heard of in 1997 when it was sold by a member on here.
  16. Thanks so this must be a 240z box.
  17. It certainly looks like an early 240z 71A gearbox. But I can never quite tell the difference between a 240z and Roadster box.
  18. Thanks, yes I've seen those. But much too modern for my tastes. I like something a bit more historic looking. Here is a Ferrari 250 GTO bonnet with leather straps and perspex cover over a vent. Funny enough it seems I'm not the only 1 who thought this was good on an S30z. http://www.ztrix.com/vents/gto-style-clear-polycarbonate-cooling-duct.html
  19. Thanks, I've added HS30 00068 to the first page post and included the photo we have and information regarding where it's now gone to. *Edit as a side note I read through this entire thread again and noticed I haven't included all the cars we received details for... I will aim to do this soon. I haven't had much time to work on a database yet, other than pondering how I want to structure it and allow people to contribute to it via an interface. I want to leverage the existing gallery, so make it possible for people to create albums for each car and have that tied to the database in some way.
  20. Thanks, I neither love this appendage or loathe it, I'm somewhat in the middle. I think it would be more at home on an S30z with flares and that "fat" look. Than on a standard body S30z. I do like the idea, but think in execution it's a bit sloppy. Too big a lump. A more subtle hood modification to improve cooling would be better. I guess Nissan eventually put the vents in the hood in later S30z's to achieve the same thing, but I don't like the look of the "260z" style vents. I've always felt they look cheap. I'd probably opt for vented inspection flaps instead. Easier to replace and cheaper to modify than a good bonnet.

  22. http://www.ebay.com/itm/240Z-factory-competition-fiberglass-hood-scoop-ULTRA-rare-260Z-280Z-look-/381461975506 240Z factory competition fiberglass hood scoop ULTRA rare 260Z 280Z look I'm not so sure this was an OEM option for the S30z, but happy to be corrected? As far as I'm aware though it's not a factory part. *Edit just found this link. http://zhome.com/History/ComHood.htm It seems like a North American dealer part designed for cars that may have experienced vapor lock with the later flat top style carbs.
  23. Thanks, I read between the lines so to speak.
  24. Good couple of hours drive that 1, if it was non vented I'd go grab it.
