  1. haha Roberto, the car you posted is the exact opposite of the ethos of the car I posted. Makes for an interesting juxtaposition. I guess that just shows the diversity we have here. Which is a good thing mind you.
  2. Why does this even count in sentencing? Like having children somehow absolves you from the full punishment when you do the wrong thing? Sounds like repeat offenders to me, so the law says if I (no kids myself) decide to commit the same crime I'll get the book thrown at me for NOT breeding?
  3. And that's the rub, provide information and make it accessible to all and therefore it helps a lot of people... Or lock down the community which makes it more difficult for those of below average intelligence to access it. However that could limit community growth and turn the place into a ghost town... I am thinking a "verified members" section would be a good start. In return for a photo of your VIN, ID plate and car, along with details about it for a registry we could allow only those who have verified ownership of an S30z access a verified only board. That way discussions can be a little more free in that section. Leave the technical forum open along with classifieds etc..
  4. Thanks it appears you can still order these new from Nissan.
  5. Just an FYI, but the clips on the rear of badges are called "Barrel Clips". http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Emblem-Clip-Set-510-240Z-260Z-280Z-OEM-NEW-/311463425603 Unfortunately this seller deliberately obfuscates the part no.s If anyone has them please post them here.
  6. LockLock it all comes back to the set up. Are Triple Mikuni's better than Twin SUs from a performance perspective? Generally speaking yes. But unless you have all the components matched together to get the most out of them then there is no point installing them. If set up correctly the Mikuni's will be better overall. Apparently this is a stock L24 motor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FqYkdliZFE Channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClHMvCcDDaBXz9TMsu4MXiw
  7. haha, a friend at work is going through his mid-life crisis and that's the same guy who bought a 944. He then convinced me to go get a learners license for a motorbike. We got our motorcycle licenses and then all his friends and family are giving him the exact same line about being a father and riding a bike. So he's still not sure if he'll actually ride on the streets now that he's got his license. Look I can see how dangerous riding a motorcycle is, the guy who used to rebuild rotary's in Ireland was in a wheel chair because he fell off 1, a Suzuki Rotary motorcycle. So he now drives cars. All these things went through my head also, but at the end of the day you can do yourself a lot of favors by being sensible and cautious of other drivers. It's not going to absolve you of any risks but you'll be a lot better off. My advice to any young fellas would be first drive cars and get a motorcycle license after you've had 10 years to learn how to read other drivers. I can't imagine how dumb I'd have been if I got my motorbike license at 17/18. Personally I think a Postie bike is a very sensible choice for short journey's around the suburbs. Just my 2 cents.

No complaints from me. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/3202-tutorial-door-skin-removal-for-dummies/page-2 I bought a door skin, rear hatch slam panel and have rare spare floors. So far they seem solid enough, my door skin fit ok and seems to be quite well made (if not a bit thicker), as a result it's a bit heavier than the original but I'm happy with it. I haven't fitted slam panel or floors yet.
  9. Love it, I am thinking I might get something similar. Just got my Learners for motorcycle and this would be a great starting bike.
  10. Metal badge set for 240z. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272017708023
  11. @Wayne did you end up making any lower beaver panels? I would definitely be in for a locally produced piece.
  12. Unfortunately this supplier did not get back to me. I may try again but I'm currently committed to a couple of other purchases. I am hoping that perhaps Wayne will make some soon? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13370-automotive-panel-craft-introduction/page-2 If not I'll chase these guys up soon, once I've unpicked my beaver panel to see what it looks like behind etc..
  13. Pretty cool, did you buy it?
  14. You make me wish I had my own place, I'm worried if I strip my Z down too far I'll get evicted from my rental and stuck with a half stripped S30z. Anyway good work so far, motivates me to get stuck back into mine. For various reasons I haven't got much done on mine lately.
  15. I spoke to Wayne and he was going to look into it and try replicate 1 and see how many hours would be involved. I offered my spare roof turret to use as a guide but he said he had a 240z to work from. To really make 1 like rare spares does, you'd have to make a buck to press them out like pancakes. I was told this is pretty expensive to do, lot of money up front. However it might be far cheaper in Taiwan to do it if you have the right contacts. As for any differences between S30z's over the years, I'm pretty sure this area remained unchanged through the life of the S30z. It is the GS30 (or 2+2) that was different. Peter truth be told the roof is the last item on my fix it list, so I am anxious to see how it turns out. I actually have another roof turret / skin (I've got 3 in total) and 1 is in pretty average condition around the drip rails. I'm thinking of using this as my cut out piece to plug the hole in the roof of HS30 00150. But I'm very interested to see how you go, so keep us posted. Once the first 1 is done you may find demand for more.
  16. I got mine off Dimitri, he said I know you've been looking for 1. . I've seen a few with a damaged mirror or only the stalk remains, but if you bought a US market mirror you could probably transplant the mirror part over easily enough.
  17. Peter just a suggestion and I'm not sure how feasible it is, but would you be better off reproducing the entire roof turret skin than a replacement section? Mainly because each sunroof hole will be a different size and position from 1 another, let's face it there is no standard size. I've looked at the curvature of the skin and it's quite different profiles in many areas which makes it hard to just wheel it up. So not sure how difficult you would find this? I know if I was to attempt it it would take me a long time to get it right. Hence I always tell people buy a complete second hand roof turret if you want the easiest and cheapest option.
  18. Thanks for those details Cam, sounds like chicken and egg scenario. Mirrors are difficult to find therefore it would be good to reproduce them, but in order to reproduce them you need a large volume to make it economically viable, but you need enough interest and confirmed parties to be interested in buying. Much cheaper to find a genuine mirror if you can!
  19. Maybe add those additional details in this thread instead? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14078-hide-my-sunroof/
  20. Yes a few things are omitted from the new ad.
  21. My bad, that's what happens when you quote something on a mobile device, after jet lag and no sleep... This is the car I was referring to. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/south-brisbane/cars-vans-utes/1972-datsun-240z/1092028438 See posts. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=167003 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=167018 For more discussions it was listed not very long ago at $3,500. New owner wants 10K has done nothing to it other than move it from the looks of it. Fair enough if you spot a bargain but any potential buyers might want to know about the front-end being replaced (more than likely) at some point. It may have been done properly etc.. It's also now listed as a 72, not a 70.
  22. Bill Hines I believe is his name.
  23. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to gauge interest in early 260z 2 seater door trims? I've had a couple of members contact me about this and I'm still working with a supplier in Japan to try and get these made with the correct lock position and possibly arm rest position (as these might be a few mm different between years). The other thing I wanted to gauge was interest in "white" trims. Since black ones are the most common and only ones currently available. I have a sample of the original colour with the supplier at the moment but the economics of scale means it's going to be expensive to get a single set produced. So I was wondering how many others could potentially be interested? Unfortunately given how rare they are prices are not cheap. So we are looking at over $1,500 AU and possibly up to $2,000 (sorry can't be more precise yet) at this stage, but depending on how many were interested these costs could come down? So just looking for numbers to see how many are interested? Also considering options locally if we can find a suitable trimmer as this might work out better with current $AUD vs JPY and USD.
  24. Shaun is a member here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/user/100128-sexual-sushi/ It's a great RS30 also.
