Roberto Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Good to see you got it running since I was there last. So am I. I called the PMC customer helpline and realised that I need to give it 2 "full" pumps prior to cranking not "baby" pumps. Starts easy now. Sweeeeet sound..... Hehe...im walking around the kitchen with the I-pad volume cranked up to hear that sweet sound of tripples, and my 7 year old complains that I need to turn the volume down pffffft Yeah, we can never be cool to a 7 year old, hehe. Riceburner Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Sounds awsome under the bonnet and even better from the system! Quote
Roberto Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 A long awaited item finally arrived today from Japan via Otomoto (BenZed). I am really impressed with the finish on this bonnet. It weighs only about 5kg and I will post another pic when on the car. Quote
Roberto Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 And have also trimmed back the ram tubes to give some extra space for the engine to breathe. Let's get ready to rumble...... Quote
Scoota G Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I'm feeling the little green monster tapping on my spine. Quote
MaygZ Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I'm feeling the little green monster tapping on my spine. He's just kicked me in the kidneys!! This beast is going to be a ... well a BEAST! Quote
Riceburner Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Just keeps getting better Roberto! How did you cut the tubes back, was it hard and nerve racking? From memory they are quite thin. Quote
Roberto Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Cheers boys..... Just keeps getting better Roberto! How did you cut the tubes back, was it hard and nerve racking? From memory they are quite thin. I cut the ram tubes back by 25mm as recommended by Peter. I did it with a hacksaw holding one side in the vice. I then filed the base of the ram tubes with a file for a smooth finish and then sand paper. It wasn't too nerve racking as I did a small cut, then rotated the ram tube and bit more cutting and continued till all cut. One big cut would have been nerve racking as the hacksaw always wanders. Yes, very thin. Quote
Roberto Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 I have been contemplating the engine colour scheme. I love the red rocker cover and blue ram tube look, but wasn't a big fan of red rocker cover with red socks or aqua blue socks that uni filters come in. I wish uni filters came in a royal blue I painted my spare rocker cover blue and tried some different sock combinations for a play around........Still yet to decide. Not solving the worlds problems here, i know. Also I finally installed the CF bonnet. I got it to fit fairly well. The hinge rods DO need to be removed as the carbon flexes too much when opening and closing and there is too much resistance with them. Next is rego and bleed brakes before a decent spin....... Quote
luvemfast Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Undecided on colour combo. But got a wet spot from that bonnet Quote
Roberto Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Well, I have decided on the final engine colour scheme which will be body colour blue rocker cover with red socks ( for now ) I liked the red cover, but with red socks it was red overkill. Quote
zzzzed Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Now I look at it the blue does look better. Quote
luvemfast Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 And we have a winner That looks the shizzbitzz Quote
bluerat Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 No such thing as Red over-kill Roberto....too much is just enough!! Quote
