luvemfast Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) It is mental, can't imagine driving an animal like that. How does a sequential miss shift? Edited April 3, 2016 by luvemfast Quote
24TZ Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Looking great Paul. Was that a engine misfire or the gearbox miss shifting? Quote
peter mc Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Lots going on paul was short shifting .not going past 6500 .and the shifter was false triggered caused it to mis .it was going a bit better in the second run when it snaped the rear drive shafts .will be dam fast when its right .and the boost is off the lowest setting Quote
Ledge Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Yeah it was just a big test day for me and the car. we were still fine tuning the engine fail safes and the shifter cut settings. The next run after this vid was better but still tweaking the ecu parameters. Breaking the axle didn't help. But that's what testing is for. First place for the weekend was a mid 44 second pass. The above vid was 45.8. Take out the miss and add more throttle and rpm and it doesn't take a genius to work out the cars potential. Bigger axles are currently getting made. so hope not to long until is go time to find the next weakest link. Cheers Lads 260DET 1 Quote
luvemfast Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 No doubt it'll be a contender. Wouldn't be with me driving though....... My balls are clearly not as big as yours! Quote

dat240z Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Have you pumped the rear guards on that mate? Quote
Cozza Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Yep, I always look forward to another update or pic. This car is in a league if it's own. Quote
Ledge Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Have you pumped the rear guards on that mate? When I cut them out for the flares I probably went 5mm out. Not a lot. Gordo 1 Quote
Ledge Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Hey Chaps, Well ive got some new hardcore axles in thanks to MadDat Motorsport. Peter Mc flew over to put the car on a Hub dyno as we get no traction on a chassis dyno. Sorted out a missfire then the next day went to Mallala for some laps. The missfire came back but we were un able to diagnose it on the day. So i was limmited to 5500rpm. Bloody thing still goes hard. We have since looked at the data log with help from the guys at Motec and Les Collins and discovered our Oil Pressure safty parametres are a little to close so this has been remedeed we hope. This is a Half lap vid. Enjoy, Short shift central. Edited July 19, 2016 by Ledge 260DET 1 Quote

The power, just the power. Would be good to see some footage from track side to give more context.. Jeff Edited July 19, 2016 by CBR Jeff Ledge 1 Quote
Ledge Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Jeff your welcome to put vids up if you see them. As is everyone else. Sometimes i just forget. Was hoping Peter was going to get some external video but he was to busy enjoying the noise. The videos dont do any justice to the note of the car Quote
luvemfast Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Sooooooo quick..... And it's not running right yet! Very nice work mate Quote
CBR Jeff Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) Looks like it's running good and proper now Paul!!! It's a rocket and much happier car. Jeff Edited August 13, 2016 by CBR Jeff ScottyD, RB26DETT, blu260z and 1 other 4 Quote
jeff43 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Fast!!!!!!!!! I have done a lot of laps around Mallala on motorcycles and Paul's car accelerates just like a motorcycle, it just eats the little excel on the back straight. Quote
260DET Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 When downshifting, is the lever just shoved through or can the throttle be blipped to smooth the deceleration? Just trying to imagine the process, from the (great) video it looks like apply the brakes and downshift through the gears as quickly as possible. Which would involve quite a bit of skill to avoid lockups. Not that I'm a manual person but I'm thinking that it may be slightly quicker with a H pattern to downshift from, say, fifth straight to second. Upshifts with the sequential are obviously quicker. Howdy Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Awesome Video Ledge, so quick. How do you keep up? Better start working out that left arm to build strength for the long races. Maybe switch your beer drinking arm to the left. Any more footage? I want more! Quote
Hokin Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Fast is an understatement that thing is incredible, great work mate! Quote
