E85 is usually used for the higher detonation threshold, in-turn allows higher boost pressure and allows more timing and compression aswell.

You're both half right. E85 reduces the intake charge temperature in the combustion chamber and also has a much higher octane rating than conventional gasoline. Both of these factors lead E85 to be detonation resistant, meaning engines can run a higher static CR, more timing and higher levels of boost.

Why do you run E85 Paul? Is it because it burns cooler/put more fuel through the engine?

Looks awesome:)

As the other guys have said.

For track car it's the best fuel to run.

Only downside is the extra fuel it burns, about 20-25% more depending on the application.

For this reason, my build will be tuned for 98 pump fuel so I can compete in one hour enduros with the standard tank as it is in the safest location in the S14 and a small surge pot that will be within the rules and make sure I get the one hour range I need.

For sprint and hill climb events this is not an issue.

Oh wow.... That's either a dinner plate sized turbo or the highest set manifold out there.. I'm guessing the first. Looks good mate, that thing will sound like a jet

Combination of a few things. The manifold is from raw brokerage in the states.  Its designed for rb in z.

But we have stood the engine up straight to make a few things work better. This has pushed the turbo up

through the bonnet. And yes itis a big turbo

Has Freddy designed the aero package for this car or did you do it yourself?

Makes sense then, I thought a couple of the elements were a little strange.

Those wrap over wing supports are the go, apparently the disturbance they cause on top is not as degrading as if they were underneath.

Posted

They are called swan necks. The theory is to not disturb the low pressure air and cause the wing to stall underneath due to separation.

Yeah and hopefully I'll be there to watch, really wish your car was running last time. Oh well... I'm sure you're just as disappointed.

Billet 28 stroker crank, Custom rods and pistons.

10.5 comp ratio. More head work than even imaginable.

Berrilium seats etc etc. Stupid big duration and lift cams.
