My wallet has just been admitted to ICU :(

And that is after only the head, how will the wallet feel after copping the hit for the L33 block  :o

Ahh i remember this level of wallet abuse and you are only at the start i'm guessing.

My bet would be on it being the makings of full race LCR P90, possibly another 3.35L bottom end in the works?

What's the deal with these? ???

They can't stay there, as they'd interfere with the manifolds.

I'm guessing some kind of cooling passage clearance inside.......

Also, looks loki precise porting.

CNC job or by hand? I'd guess CNC

I would suggest that they are going install an external coolant rail, for better water flow in the head. Mine has an early evolution of this on Cyl #5. I know they have done a motor since that has a billet rail for multiple cylinders.

If you look at an RB26 they have this setup from the factory. On the attached pictures of my Gibson head attached you can see the modified rail on the bottom of the intake manifold and the small galleries in between on the intake ports on the other photo.

^^

Fixed.

Remember. There was no Gibson involvement in that Jake.

It was Neil Cartledge, with a brand new rb26 head supplied by Howard Marsden.

This was started before Godzilla even hit the racetrack!

I'm sorry but you are wrong.

Please tell me something I don't know about this project Jake.  ???

Neil must have left out those details when I picked it up from his house to take home, or when it was passed on to Peter Mac in my garage........

I was going to take over this project many years ago. But decided that it was beter off in the hands of someone more experienced like Peter, hence why I connected the two of them together.

So if there's something I missed, I'd love to hear about it.

Converesly, I'd hate for you to have been fed information that is not correct! We've all played chinese whispers and know how information, can be left off or added to a story.

Sorry for the hijack Lurch.

The bright side is, you've finally got a good looking head!  :P

Farking Hijacking bastards!  ::)

It's a P90.

The items you've highlighted in the photo Simon are for the external coolant pipe. I won't be using it, as it's a $2k option...

I'll start a engine build thread in a month or two once I'm further down the rabbit hole...

G-Unit - it's north of 230CFM @ 28" ;)

Good luck, it's a big undertaking. Are you doing the 3.4L bottom end?

Wow, looking forward to seeing the new powerplant in place.

Are you going to break out the satin black rattle can while the motor is out ?

Cheers
