Great work Scoota. I think only a person who has gone through this work can appreciate how much time and effort goes into it. At least you will be pretty confident when you say it's one of the few rust free Zeds on the road. And that is always good to know when the car is sitting in the garage knowing that it is not rusting away in there. Ha.

So it's the door's this weekend, rear qrt's next week and the roof and bonnet the following weekend Sweet.

Haven't ordered the door skins yet... i can get them local for $268 each. Might have to be the bonnet and i really want to leave the Quarters till last and maybe do the dog legs/ sills/ insides of the doors at the same time. So i'm thinkin Bonnet or Hatch this weekend.

Well i had a lazy weekend, this type of work certainly takes it out of you. Anyways i'm happy with the progress so far.... here's a couple of pictures of that scraper

Again social factors got in the road but i was really wanting to work down one side of the car at the time. This one came today and the other on is due next week as they were out of stock.

Well gee i'm up early and you may think i'm getting into the Zed ... well i was but i in a different way. My partners  lowlife ex husband slashed both the passenger tyres at around 1:30am this morning and then rang her to said he had done it, so i had to swap tyres around and fit the spare, i'll go over to dales at 6ish and see if he can lend me a spare. I think that screwing with anyone's car is really the lowest Form. Funny thing was i was due for a set new of tyres all round next month anyways.

Approach him and tell him unless he forks out the coin for new tyres, you'll make a police report.

Then choose the most expensive tyres you can find.

I'll get back on topic now, taking a week or so off and stripping the door skins. I'm using lurch's guide to removal thread and it's working brillantly.

From the looks of it so far the new Rare Spares skin is a very good fit.

The skins are great but just a little problem with the radius on the bottom rear not folding over quite right. Worst problem is now my Interior light is stuck on  :o. Made the removal tool and it worked awesome, epoxy on the inside too. I'll slice a tiny bit out of the radius lip and get it sitting right.

It's a good feeling putting new dook skins on, i tell's ya.

Fitted the door today, there is a issue that when you wind up the window it fouls on the inside top support for the skin. Best to bend this out of the road before fitting.

I think all Zeds have this window problem Mark. Shame I didn't do it when we threw a brand new window into my door. Now the scratch's have started to appear again. Managed to get another new window a year or so ago. I might have to fit it one day and of course bend the rubbing metal peice away.

All looking good there mate.

We might have to do another Grampians drive or something once you are finished.

Top shelf work Scoot, I think you move faster than me!!   I am hoping to find a couple of second hand doors and do the same for mine.  I cut and welded but I'd like brand new door skins. Anyway the Scoot mobile is looking great. well done.
