ha! I think everyone knows that I don't need to give Scoot ideas, he has enough of his own... Still waiting for that Aussie flag idea to randomly show up in this thread..  :)

When I've been to your house, I've seen the way he looks at Orange (that twinkle gets in his eye), I'm still surprised it hasn't ended up with a certain V8 in it  ;) Maybe that's going to 'accidentally' fall in one day before it's finished?  :P hee hee.

Scoot, which spec cam are you going to run with the new head? The same one that's currently on the car? Last time I talked to you, you had another one which was a bit lumpy for your current setup, but you still had it still sitting around.  ???

All assembled now and i ordered camtower shims From Stewart Wilkins, i think it will just sit there now until i rework the engine bay although i can just feel i'll get tempted one of these weekends.

I also think one of those twin idler gear http://www.kameariusa.com/L6_Twin_Idler_Gear.php would be a good addition. I found one on another site $200 cheaper.

But for now i think i'll go buy some more paint and reskin the Passenger side door as the weather is starting to improve.

Yes, with wind chill factor, it finally reached 0 degrees at 5.30pm on Wednesday.  Time to break out the sunscreen.  ;D

Well after an Awsome weekend Helping rob (fuzzydropbear) out with his project and a Full On trip down to Phillip Island the car needed a bit of a wash. Also the pile of parts that need to be fitted grows ever larger with a Dash that i picked up off Peter when down at Phillip Island (with a working clock) and a set of camshaft tower shims that completes the list of everything that i need to install the cylinder head. Happy Days indeed.

I swear everytime i walk even close to my car with a Parcel it's almost as if the front changes from it's current look to something that says "For Mee"

So what are the spec's of the L26 and have you had it on a dyno?

Cold air intake, 2" Ramtubes, 45mm Dellortos, Kameri Manifold, Stainless steel valves, Shaved, Cc'd, ported N42 head, Crow cam and Valve springs, ARP head bolts, 280ZX Electronic ignition, Full balance, Chrome rings, 40 thou overbore, Hypertec pistons, Modified crank, Genie headers, Apart from that theres the 140 amp alternator, Aluminium radiator!

No dyno session yet and i still have to fit the cylinder head.

did the dash clean up ok for you mate

Yep, the dash was actually grey as i suspected so i repainted it and it looks perfect, thanks again peter. Only weird thing is that working clock...after 13 years it's a bit hard to get used to.

Not mucking around there Mark

Looking good

How come you've got time to spend on the Z?

I've got two jobs at the moment, one is outside and with the constant rain it's hard to get to. The other is painting Dale's Zed and it's still a bit cold to do that.

Looks awesome that engine will be tops hope everything else goes to plan.

It's only just run in and is sounding great, pity i have to strip it down again but the new cylinder head (on the previous page) should Pep it up a fraction.

I've put the new Cylinder Head on today (3 months to get all the bits) and it was very much a straight forward operation. This one is shaved with stainless steel valves, cam towers have been shimmed which set the pad wipe up perfect. Sounds SaaaWeeet but i'll wait for tomorrow for a run... i do remember saying that i was finished under the bonnet, i suppose one day that will be true  :-\
