  1. I have to do a flying trip to Penrith next week from Ballarat and am considering staying the night instead of driving up through the night to pick up my new camper trailer and turning around to come back straight back. So I was wondering if anyone new of anywhere cheap to crash for a night in the Penrith area? Cheers. Simon.
  2. Just putting it out there in Z land, I will be driving from Ballarat to Penrith NSW and return in 4-5 weeks. If I can help anyone out let me know. Cheers. Simon
  3. I will give you a call call soon. Just getting front brakes sorted at the moment. Cheers. Simon
  4. Always good to have another Simon in Ballarat that has Datsuns! I must catch up with you aswell, as I need a power dyno run done on my 1600 race car. Cheers. Simon.
  5. I have the Gopro Black 3 and love the remote control on my smart phone with the Gopro App. Picture quality is brilliant, but now I find that my 12mth old expensive laptop is not good enough to run the Cineform editing program and my internet is to slow to upload any footage from it
  6. Thanks Pete, I think I will stick with the 98 and not even bother with the 100 (98+10%Eth). Will just have to listen for any signs of a 'ping'. Having only ever ran on Avgas which is between 100lean to 130rich it shouldn't worry it too much.
  7. I ran 1 & 3/4 SU's of a Triumph on my old 260Z and had no issues at all, including a track day at Simmons Plains. I never did anything different just tuned them. I can find a pic to post if you like? Thomo
  8. So 2 years have past since the last post and E85 is becoming the fuel to use in road and race engines more often now. I have been trying to get as much info lately and find someone with the knowledge to tune as I can, with very little success on the net. I have an L series in my race only Datsun running Webers with very high comp. and want to run on either 100 oct fuel (98 + 10% eth) this is easier to get or possibly E85. Engine has never ran on anything other than Avgas. Can anyone recommend someone to speak to? Or any advice would be very appreciated. The Dato has fuel cell, copper fuel lines and is already running rich for performance. FYI Thomo
  9. Anyone looked at this? Seems all right for the current price.
  10. http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/PermitsModificationsAndDefects/OtherPermits/ClubPermits.htm And you need to be a member of a car club. Some clubs do their own checks, some require a RWC.
  11. I got the same email just now Rev. Thought the name sounded familiar, that's how I found this thread. Interesting.

  14. And a quick little rocket it is as well Bruce. Lou Built the engine in my fathers car. 1600 block bored to 1998cc with 300zx flat tops and 102hp atw. He recons he could get alot more if he put Webers on it but dad being dad it just wouldn't be the same.

  19. CAMS announce that the 2010 CAMS CARnival planned for October 1st – 4th has been postponed until May 2011. Given the short lead time into the event, we have been unable to attract the interest required that is deserving of such an important event for CAMS and its Clubs. Michael Smith of CAMS said “CAMS is fully supportive of CARnival and much work has already gone into planning and organising the event. It is unfortunate that we have had to make this decision but the overall level of interest is not what we require to ensure a successful event for the entrants, visitors into the region and the local community of Echuca-Moama. CAMS believe the CARnival format will be a success but that the timing of this inaugural event is better suited to May 2011”. The decision has been made in consultation with key partner Echuca-Moama Tourism (EMT). Pete White, General Manager of Events from EMT said “It is disappointing that we have to postpone the event this year, but given the current level of registrations, this is the right decision. I am confident that the move to May 2011 will be supported by our existing commercial partners and we look forward to the region hosting the event”. 20. I've got a rally in Poweltown/Noojee on that Saturday night. So I wont even be able to catch up for lunch.
  21. Have a great day everyone. Would have liked to come but I just got to much on this weekend. Look forward the Youtube tech video
  22. I just used the rails. Note the one on the right is slightly higher as it's further back. Just make sure the front wheels are well chocked.
  23. It's funny how different (but same) cars handle and the lengths we go to to make them handle well. This thread got me thinking of my 260 2+2 that I drove on the Tassie run in Feb. It had Dunlop 3000A tyres, King lowered springs, standard front & rear swaybars, rebuilt wet legs with tranny fluid and I have no idea what the alignment settings were as I done it with a string line on the floor in the shed . But it handled the wet twisty roads flatout brilliantly, even clutching half way through the corner to get it to slide but it just stuck.
  24. Event timetable Competitors need to decide which events they wish to contest and work out their own schedule of activity. The events will run continuously for the following times: Airport Speed Events, Autotests, all Motorkhanas, Autocross and Khanacross. Saturday October 2: 0900-1700 Sunday October 3: 0900-1200* (*Startling time for last car. Only venues on the Victorian side of the Murray River will be run on Sunday due to traffic congestion on the bridge from cars returning from the Deni Ute Muster at Deniliquin). The Rallysprint is a fixed format, with the first car starting at 0900 Saturday only and finishing at approximately 1530 that afternoon. Cars run at one-minute intervals. Field limit 120 cars. The Speedway Sprint (4 laps) will run from 1300 to 1700 on Saturday only The Navigation Trial is a fixed format with first car starting at 1500 on Saturday only, finishing at 1900. Cars run at one-minute intervals. Limit 100 cars. The Fuel Economy Test is a fixed format and is being run on Saturday only. The first car starts at 1000 and finishes at 1400. Starters accepted until 1200. Limit 100 cars. Plan your own event program As an example, a crew could enter the Rallysprint, then compete in Autocross, Motorkhana, the Speedway Sprints, or take part in the Navigation event. Other competitors could run Motorkhanas, Speed Events and Autocross in the morning and then compete in the Navigation Test in the afternoon. There are numerous options, and it is up to participants to decide their own program and nominate the events they wish to contest. Crews entering Motorkhanas, Autocross, Khanacross, Speed Events and Auto Tests are entitled to two runs at each separate event, which means that a Motorkhana competitor could have a total of 20 runs at the 10 separate venues! The number of runs at each venue is limited to 2 in most cases. This may be reviewed depending on entry numbers. At the Heartland Speedway, competitors will be entitled to 2 runs, each of 4 laps. Competitors waiting for their first run at an event will generally be given priority over those who have already had a run.
