Administrators gav240z Posted December 18, 2013 Administrators Posted December 18, 2013 I think the z is almost finished, as soon as you fix one thing there will always be something else to do I still want to change the hatch to a series 1 and maybe next year I'll speak to Peter about some serious headwork on the L28. I don't know what it is, but I love the little vents in the rear hatch. I guess it's kind of like the split screen corvette vs non split screen. Just that subtle difference and people loose their minds (well I do).. I think $900 is too much as well Gav for a compe wheel, from memory I paid between $500-600 landed for mine which was a NOS item in the box, which was more than I wanted to pay I just got caught up in the moment. There are now heaps of cheap ones on yahoo japan but I think they are mostly replicas, I don't remember seeing them when I was looking for one. I know that feeling of getting caught up in the moment, sometimes you just want to get your build done and not worry about saving a few $$$. Don't blame you. I just had a look and I think they are replica wheels. Saw a few sets of used fender mirrors as well but for the price they wanted for items that were pretty toasty I wasn't interested, my new ones ended up being $400 which was only a little bit more than some used ones I am very happy with the dashboard, the gauges were a little tight to get in but other than that it looks great! I think you'll be happy you repaired the dashboard check out how much this guy wants for an OEM 1 $3000 AU. http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m107734420 Quote
mossy Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Looks like my dash was a bargain! Just saw some new fender mirrors too, about $550 ea before costs, I think you'd have to be very keen on a set for that much money Quote
mossy Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 I think about $600 when I had it done a few years ago Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 20, 2013 Administrators Posted December 20, 2013 Actually maybe the Compe Wheels do cost that much now? http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m115184726 Quote
mossy Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 So thats probably around $800 aud, then your shipping and buyer fees probably $900 all up, go on Gav you know you want to Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 20, 2013 Administrators Posted December 20, 2013 LOL I wish mate, no I think that money will be better spent fixing my floors. Some day I'll get 1. Quote
MyEnquiringMind Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 this car does it for me mossy... thanks for posting, I am hoping my next build will come up looking as half as good Cheers, Jarrod. Quote
mossy Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks mate, I reckon I'm not the only who loves it when a fellow enthusiast likes his or her car. Its like when I first bought it for $1200, got it regoed as a daily and was getting the thumbs almost every time I took it out on the road. Quote
NZeder Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Actually maybe the Compe Wheels do cost that much now? http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m115184726 Yes for the original ones - there are replica one on the market now that can be purchased for around 27,000 Yen - so that has made the original more valuable - pleased I have one of the originals that I purchased a few years back now too. mossy Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Well in the quest for more power the zed will be worked on again by PMC this time for headwork, something I should have just done from the start Quote
NZeder Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Well in the quest for more power the zed will be worked on again by PMC this time for headwork, something I should have just done from the start True - that is why my track car will have a stock L28 for a while - so I can get other things sorted first (mainly the driver lol) then I can install power upgrades via a new fresh L28 with the trimmings. mossy Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Here are the new seats, kameari gt buckets, needs headrests still and have to still figure out how to mount them. Thanks to Gav for picking them up and posting them and thanks to Alan (HS30-H) for giving me some good info on them before buying. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 29, 2014 Administrators Posted January 29, 2014 Glad to see they arrived as they left. They look great in your Z. Much better than my dirty old Z . Quote
RB26DETT Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 This car is my favourite!!! And it's getting better and better Quote
George Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 This car is my favourite!!! And it's getting better and better Hear hear. Love the seats. Just making my way through your build thread. You've come a long way. Quote
adam Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Just when we all thought your car couldn't get any better.. you go and prove us all wrong, Mark. Seats, steering wheel.. It's all soo good! Once you get that center console in, it'll be perfect! Quote
mossy Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Glad everyone likes them, I think they suit the car much better than the recaros. Actually I can't believe no one had bought them on ozdat, they were used but I would say they are mint. They feel comfy but you wouldn't want to be carrying any excess weight because I don't think you would fit in them. Quote
C.A.R. Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm a skinny sod, & I don't fit in them! They are made for little Japanese men... Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 29, 2014 Administrators Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah they fit my Japanese size hips quite well, but you wouldn't want to be any bigger than 34 cm around the waist lol... Quote
